Lakewood Guthrie Lake

Get ready for a puptastic day by the water with your favorite furry friend in the Lakewood Guthrie Lake neighborhood. If the name didn’t give it away, this neighborhood is home to the stunning Guthrie Lake! Soak in some rays with your leashed pup on the grassy shoreline or take a boat ride on the calm waters of this large and scenic lake. There are tons of trees lining the water’s edge that add to the natural beauty of this spectacular body of water. In addition to plenty of room for walks and playtime, there are two fishing piers and restrooms at this woofderful lakeside area! Leashed dogs are welcome everywhere at Guthrie Lake, except at the signed swim area.

Whispering Heights

Visit an off-leash haven in Edmond’s Whispering Heights neighborhood! Just 19 miles from Guthrie, this neighborhood is where you’ll find the four-acre Edmond Dog Park located within Bickham-Rudkin Park. This fully fenced-in four-acre furry fun zone’s big attraction is its access to a large pond where dogs can swim! Your pooch will also love exploring the agility equipment, sniffing around the mature trees and romping around in the grass with new friends! There are fire hydrants and waste cleanup stations throughout the dog park, plus several benches where humans can chill out while pups play. If you’re craving some exercise too, take a walk with your leashed pup on the 1.2-mile trail that winds through the rest of Bickham-Rudkin Park.

Edgewater

Pack up Fido and the fam and head to Edmond’s Edgewater neighborhood for a furrific day at the lake! Located about 19 miles from Guthrie, this area’s Spring Creek Park has 194 acres of pawsome recreational facilities where there’s something for everyone! Your two-legged children will love swimming at the sandy beach and playing on the playground. You and your four-legged fur baby will love taking a jaunt on the three-mile Spring Creek Trail. This ultra-wide, paved multiuse trail is great for biking, running and walking with Fido. Spring Creek Park also has a disc golf course, a boat ramp, fishing dock and picnic pavilion. There is a small fee for entrance to the park, except if you are accessing only Spring Creek Trail – then it’s free!

Turtle Creek

There’s a seriously pawsome park for you and your pooch to explore in Edmond’s Turtle Creek neighborhood, about 19 miles from Guthrie. The E.C. Hafer Park features 121 acres of beautiful open space where you and your leashed dog can walk and play. Your pup’s tail is sure to be wagging as ducks and geese quack and splash in the park’s serene pond, which is a common hangout for waterfowl. The park’s 1.5-mile Hafer Trail loops around this large park, with a smaller loop around the pond. Along the trail, you and your pup will follow a pleasant creek and wander through the woods. There are also several woofderful picnic areas scattered throughout this furrific park.
