The city of Marietta is so small that it is not divided into neighborhoods. The city offers residents a variety of real estate to choose from if you are looking to move into the area with your fur family. The homes are fairly spread out, so you will have no problem getting in a quick walk after work when your pup is craving some exercise and attention. Since the city is a commuter town, there isn't a lot of development in terms of city streets and sidewalks, but you will find the Shellenberger Park is a quaint but charming little green space for a change of scenery.

Lake Murray

About 25 minutes to the north of Marietta is Lake Murray State Park. This park was the first state park in the state. The namesake lake rests in the center of the park and attracts many visitors each year. There is easy road access to all of the recreational areas, including the campgrounds and beaches. The park is more than 12,000 acres of gorgeous land and water. The park offers a lodge and cabins for rent if you are looking for a quick vacation spot not too far from home. Dogs are permitted in most areas of the park, but take care to check posted signs as you make your way through the park with your pup.

Freeman

About 20 minutes north of Marietta is the city of Ardmore. Freeman is a community in the center of the city with plenty of parks for you and your pooch to explore if you need a change of pace. Walker Park is one of the public parks in the area where you can bring your pooch for an afternoon full of fun! You will want to bring a few tennis balls or other toys that your pup loves to chase. Just down the road is Broadlawn Park. This neighborhood park is close to homes and schools, making it a pawfect place for a walk after work with your energetic best friend!

McLish

McLish is a small neighborhood in the central part of town where you will find Central Park. This small park is a green and cheerful place to spend an early morning walk or an afternoon picnic with your pooch! There is a splash pad for hot days and plenty of room for larger family gatherings as well. You will want to bring plenty of drinking water and waste bags if you are bringing your pup to this wagtastic park. Some tennis balls or rope toys in your playtime bag will also go a long way while you are enjoying the fresh air together.

North Ardmore

North Ardmore is a quiet part of town where you can visit Ardmore Regional Park. This park has many family-friendly features, but dog lovers enjoy bringing their pups to the dog park found inside. You can head to this park for off-leash fun, or you can enjoy the dog-friendly trails that wind through the trees of this local gem. Art is a big inspiration in this park, with many outdoor exhibits available throughout the year. There is even a small lake where you can lounge with your pup on a picnic blanket and take a big breath of fresh air.
