When you are in Durant, don’t forget to take your pup on a trip to Slaton Park! This is an eight acre park in town where you can bring your pooch for some playtime. There is an open area for playing fetch, as well as large trees for some shade in the warm weather. There is also a softball field, football fields and playground equipment, as well as restroom facilities you can use. For more exercise, head to Keithley Park! Here there is a walking track where you can enjoy a leisurely stroll, as well as a splash pad, playground equipment, pavilion and basketball court.

S 9th Ave/ W Arkansas St

For some playtime and exercise with your furry friend, head on over to the Billy Miller Park. Here your pooch can bound around the grass, and there are some trees that will provide some shade when it is hot. There are also pawsome amenities here that you can use, which includes some baseball fields, a playground for the kids and a basketball hoop. Another furrific park you can enjoy with your pup is Lloyd Plyler Park where you can use the grass for your canine to roll, as well as romp on baseball fields, and there is even a playground area for the kids to enjoy.

When you are out exploring Durant and your stomach starts to growl, head over to the Main Street Barbecue for some pawsome food and refreshments! This barbecue joint is a furrific place for burgers, ribs, sandwiches, stews and other comfort food that you will love to get your paws into. Since all of the meat here is slow-smoked every day, you know you are in for a treat! There are also tables and chairs outside where you can sit and eat your meal and where your beloved companion can sit by your side and watch the world go by – bone-a-petit!
