Colbert
Colbert is a largely residential area in southern Oklahoma that includes single-family homes, some local businesses, and public schools. There are quiet country lanes here where you and your canine companion can stretch your legs together. You'll find riverside camping just two miles south of town at the River View RV and Recreational Park. This property has pull-through sites for RVs and tent areas. Two pets under 20 pounds are welcome per site. Larger dogs will be assessed on a case by case basis. Remember to keep your pup on a leash and to clean up his messes while in the campground.36

Platter
Platter is about 6.3 miles northwest of Colbert near Lake Texoma. This remote neighborhood includes a few lakes, private residences, some farms, and a post office. You and Fido can walk past fields on country lanes here. Plan a day or overnight on the lake with your four-footed friend at Platter Flats Public Use Area. There are picnic facilities, a boat dock, and back-in RV hookups here. Bring your boat and fish on Lake Texoma while your fur baby relaxes in the bow. Most dogs on a leash are welcome in designated areas. Bring waste bags so that you can clean up any droppings.24

Calera
Located about eight miles northeast of town, Calera is a residential community with a public school, post office, and single-family homes. Learn about the area's roots at the Bryan County Genealogy Library on McKinley Avenue. For some rest and relaxation by the water, take your furry pal to the Lakeside Public Use Area on Lake Texoma. This facility is about 15.7 miles to the west of town. There are RV hook-ups by the shoreline and a day use picnic area about 150 feet from the water here. Most dogs are permitted in designated areas of the park, provided that you keep them on a leash.12

Eisenhower State Park
The neighborhood of Eisenhower State Park, located about eight miles southwest of Colbert, is a lakeside facility on the shoreline of Lake Texoma in Denison. Come for the day and go hiking on the area trails. Select from several easy to moderate difficulty pathways that offer scenic views of the area. If you'd like to spend the night, bring a tent or RV and set up camp. There are full, standard, and basic campsites available. Dogs can join you in outdoor areas of the park, provided that they're on a leash no longer than six feet. Make sure you clean up any messes.
