The city’s dog park is located within Graham Park, a large recreational area that includes dozens of amenities, such as a disc golf course, a beautiful lake with ducks and wildlife, playgrounds, horseshoes, and a volleyball court. The dog park consists of a large fenced-in space. Remember to bring your own water and doggie bags for clean up.
Other parks in the area allow on-leash dogs. Long Branch Trail includes a jogging trail with exercise equipment along the path – perfect for dogs and owners looking for an agility challenge. Nearby Oak Creek Park has many wide open spaces for play, while Middleton Park has more wooded areas and playgrounds.
The Chapparal Rail Trail cuts through Greenville. It begins in Farmersville and travels over 35 miles to end at Pecan Gap. Part of the trail is paved, while the other sections are crushed stone. When the trail does not go through towns along the path, it leads through remote wooded areas. On-leash dogs are allowed.
The neighborhood of Oak Creek and Gabe Estates offers ample green space for you and your pooch to explore and play in. Towards the north end of the community, just north of the Memoryland Memorial Park, you will find a large, wide open clearing where you can enjoy a game of fetch or Frisbee with your pooch! On the eastern side of the neighborhood, residents often take their four legged pals over to Oak Creek Park. This park has amenities including washrooms, covered picnic tables, and a large park for the little ones. But the best part of all? It has a huge, wide open clearing to play in!
Being one of the larger neighborhoods in Greenville, it is only fitting to have one of the largest parks right in your backyard! Warren Park has something for everyone: basketball courts, playgrounds, covered picnic tables, and lots of ducks to feed and visit! You and your furry best friend will love spending time here, watching sports, wildlife, or playing a game of your own. If you and your pup like to keep moving, the park offers some trails to explore as well. The majority of the green space in this park is a wide open clearing, with a small section where you and your pooch can enjoy the shade offered by the trees, and sniff some wild flowers along the way.
Grab your leashes and head on over to Wright Park! This great park is situated right in your backyard if you call the neighborhood of Turtle Creek home! The park itself offers visitors covered picnic tables, benches, tennis courts, a playground, and lots of vegetation. Here, you and your bestie can explore the open clearing and treed in trails. The park is beautiful when the trees are falling, giving you some pretty scenic views to walk through! Keep your eyes peeled and noses up, as some of the trails will lead you to a pond where your pooch can have a dip. Nearby the neighborhood is a dog friendly hotel, where your guests with pups can stay close by!
The City Center area of Greenville is home to Middleton Park, a small and lovely community area where residents come to play. With open areas and lots of trees, this park is pawfect for a stroll. Featuring soccer fields where your pup can romp between games, this park also has picnic tables and grills for an afternoon meal. There are playgrounds here too, so be sure to keep your dog leashed as there are often kids about. Bring your own water and clean up bags, and help keep this park beautiful!
This neighborhood in Lavon is home to Lavonia Park. Though a 30 minute drive from Greenville, Lavonia Park is a pawtastic destination. Set on the southern end of Lake Lavon, this park offers lots of space for an afternoon, or a night. Providing gorgeous views of the lake, your pup can enjoy the open space and beach. There are picnic tables and grills for a picnic. Make it a vacation and rent a site, or bring your RV. Restrooms and hot showers are on site, and there’s even a boat ramp for the water lovers.
