E Main St/ Highland Dr
Looking for off-leash fun? Visit Medford’s E Main St/ Highland Dr neighborhood, about five miles from Jacksonville! Locals love this neighborhood’s Hawthorne Park for its off-leash area. This fenced-in mulched area is huge, with lots of mature trees and a paved walking path where owners can get some exercise, too. There are picnic tables and a special area for small dogs. Bear Creek Park has another woofderful off-leash area in this neighborhood! Bear Creek Dog Park has two acres of fenced-in area with a covered picnic table and a paved walking path. Bear Creek Park is also a great place to hop on the Bear Creek Greenway trail. The 20-mile paved, multi-use trail winds its way through the Jackson County. Leash your pup, take in the diverse scenery and look for wildlife as you get some exercise along the greenway.48

Medford City Center
For some muttropolitan fun, visit Medford’s City Center neighborhood, about five miles from Jacksonville! The neighborhood’s Pear Blossom Park is great place for some outdoor time with your leashed dog. Alba Park is another puptastic neighborhood park with large grassy areas and shade trees, making it extra inviting for a picnic or a walk. If you get hungry, walk to one of the many nearby restaurants in the neighborhood like the Downtown Market Company. You and Fido will be comfortable on their pet-friendly patio, and you’ll love this café’s artisan sandwiches and yummy brunch menu. The downtown area is home to some pawesome food trucks as well, like Peruvian Point! Serving up authentic Peruvian cuisine, this food truck has fur-iendly tables where your pup can join you while you eat.36

Hillcrest Rd/ N Foothill Rd
You’ll find tranquility tucked in the residential neighborhood of Hillcrest Rd/ N Foothill Rd in Medford. About five miles from Jacksonville, check out the neighborhood’s Holmes Park, a favorite among locals. This beautiful and quiet park has paved paths where you and your leashed dog can walk beneath mature trees and through large grassy areas. There are picnic tables, restrooms and a playground. Also in this neighborhood, you’ll find Ruhl Park, another serene outdoor space. With lovely lawns, benches under shade trees and a quaint gazeebo, Ruhl Park is a woofderful spot to watch the world go by with Fido. Leashed pups are welcome in Summerfield Park, too, where you’ll find a short walking path, picnic tables and restrooms.24

S Pacific Hwy/ Armory Dr
See some of Medford’s most beautiful natural and residential areas via the Bear Creek Greenway that winds through the city’s S Pacific Hwy/ Armory Dr neighborhood. About five miles from Jacksonville, this paved, multi-use trail covers 18.5 miles, winding through eight parks and five towns including Ashland, Talent, Central Point, Phoenix and Medford. You and your leashed dog will love adventuring down the trail as it follows Bear Creek through woods and open meadows. There are benches along the trail that provide a scenic, quiet place to rest. The greenway path will take you through Blue Heron Park, where you’ll find a picnic pavilion, a playground and restrooms.12

S Jacksonville
Pups and their people love the S Jacksonville neighborhood because of its close proximity to downtown and its scenic park. Check out the neighborhood’s Doc Griffin Park with your leashed pup. With big open grassy areas and a pavilion, this is a puptastic spot for a picnic with your dog. There’s a playground, restrooms and a splash park for kids. For a tasty treat in the S Jacksonville neighborhood, Stim Coffee serves up delectable coffees and specialty drinks, plus homemade baked goodies. The coffee shop has a shaded outdoor seating area where dogs are welcome – they even have water bowls for your pooch!
