West Merlin
Take a hike with your pup along the Taylor Creek Trail. The trail is 5.6-miles long, with a 2,400-elevation gain and an out and back route type. The trail borders Taylor Creek and is covered by trees to keep you and Fido cool. The trail surface is packed dirt, making it easy to hike along and follow. If you and Fido want to cross Taylor Creek to continue the hike, you can since there is a bridge that goes over the creek. This trail is rated as easy since it is mostly flat for most of the hike until the end of the trail where you have to climb up a steep hill.36
Northwest Merlin
The Indian Mary Park is a beautiful park to take Fido for a walk. The park has some amazing amenities, like camping, a picnic area, volleyball court, basketball court, and access to the river. Take advantage of the hiking trails and get a good hike in with your furry pal. The Hog Creek County Park is another great spot to take a walk with Fido and enjoy the river. The park only offers a few amenities, like restrooms and a boat ramp, but Fido will enjoy his time walking along the river here. The Ennis Riffle County Park offers camping, a boat ramp, and restrooms when you come and hang out with your pup.24
West Grants Pass
This area in Grants Pass is home to some amazing parks that Fido will love to visit. Matson Park is a small park that sits along the river and offers a picnic area, restrooms, and swimming. Your dog will love the sandbar area where he can splash around in the river before heading home. The Whitehorse County Park offers camping, a boat ramp. restrooms, and a picnic area. The park is covered in trees to give you a Fido plenty of shade while you enjoy a nice walk together. Griffin Park is a dogtastic park to hang out at with your pup and offers a boat ramp, picnic shelter, playground, horseshoe pit, and volleyball court. There is a trail that wraps around this park that you both can use for a walk together. Only eight miles out of Merlin in Grants Pass, your pup will love checking these parks out with you.12
Miller Highland
Take your pup over to Loveless Park for an amazing day out with you. The park offers great amenities that Fido will love, including a tree-topped playground, picnic areas, and a BMX area. There is a dirt walking path that goes around the park that you and your pup can use for a walk, and while walking, you will be shaded by plenty of trees. There is a small open space in this park for Fido to relax in or play a game of fetch as well. This beautiiful park is in Grants Pass, which borders Merlin.
Lawnridge Park
The Lawnridge Park is a dogtastic park to go for a walk at with your furry pal. The park has a lighted basketball court, tennis courts, playground, and picnic area that your pup will go crazy for. There is an open green space for fetch, and a paved walking path around the park that you and Fido can use for a good walk together. There is a pavilion in the middle of the park that helps provide shade, and is surrounded by benches if you and Fido want to relax.
