On Interstate 5, about halfway between Medford and Ashland, lies the small but vibrant town of Talent. Talent’s rich history dates back to the 1800s when it was a homestead settlement that turned into a hub for social and religious gatherings. In 1910, the town became incorporated. As part of the Rogue River Valley, residents of Talent enjoy a beautiful natural setting for outdoor recreation and a high quality of life. Locals don’t have to go far to find big city amenities, as Ashland is just six miles away. Should your pooch need medical attention, Talent has a veterinary clinic to take care of your dog’s healthcare needs.
Talent is very dog-friendly, too! The Talent Bark Park is an understandably pawpular rendezvous for furry friends. This large fenced-in grassy area has trees and a walking path where humans can also get some exercise. The park has a fun hill with a tunnel underneath it where your pup can explore! Talent Bark Park has doggie waste cleanup stations inside the park, benches and a picnic table.
You and your leashed pup are welcome in Chuck Robert's Park for a picnic or a relaxing walk. There’s a paved walking path, a sand volleyball court, open fields and a splash pad. There’s also restrooms and picnic areas.
For eats in Talent, check out The Real Talent Café. Serving up yummy comfort foods for breakfast and lunch, this quirky and artistic café loves to host pups and their people on their patio.
Whether you’re a local or you’re just passing through, you and your pup are sure to feel welcome in Talent!
