Want to experience Winston like a local? Visit the town’s Commerce Center neighborhood! This area is home to Winston Dillard County Park, a pawpular place to hang out, especially with leashed dogs. The park has a spacious open lawn, perfect for a walk with your furry four-legged friend. There’s also a sidewalk that meanders around the perimeter, so you and Fido can get some exercise while taking in all the sights and sounds of the park. There’s fun for the whole family at Winston Dillard County Park – two playground areas, plus restrooms, mature trees, tennis courts and a woofderful sheltered picnic area are waiting for you!

You and your pooch will love visiting Winston’s Douglas and Main neighborhood! This area is a furrific spot for pets because of its Riverbend Park. Located on the banks of the South Umpqua River, the park is a great place to access the river. Your leashed pup will have a blast splashing and playing on the shores of this scenic river. During the summer, the park is home to tons of events, including free concerts where you and your pup can relax on a blanket and listen to pawsome live music! There are walking paths that make Riverbend Park a puptacular place to get some exercise, too. The park also has a playground, restrooms, a skate park, picnic area and athletic fields.

Garden Valley/ Stephens

Garden Valley/ Stephens

Looking to log some miles with Fido? Leash up your pup and head to the Garden Valley/ Stephens neighborhood in Roseburg, about nine miles from Winston. This neighborhood is home of Gaddis Park, a trailhead for the Stewart Park Bike/Hike Path. Take a walk with your dog and take in the scenery along the South Umpqua River. Gaddis Park also has a playground, athletic fields and picnic areas. The path eventually meanders through Stewart Park, another pawsome place to explore. Riverfront Park is another stop on this trail, providing another furiffic place to get some exercise or just relax and watch the world go by with Fido.

Is your pooch craving some quality off-leash time? Head to the Oaks neighborhood in Roseburg, about nine miles from Winston. Your dog will go bonkers for the neighborhood’s Happy Tails Dog Park at Templin Beach Park! At one acre, this fully fenced-in dog park has tons of room to run and socialize, plus large and small dog areas. There are doggie waste cleanup stations, lots of shade, and seasonal drinking fountains, plus benches for humans. Outside of the off-leash park, Templin Beach Park has pawsome access to the South Umpqua River, where your leashed pup can splash in the water. Sutherlin

Sutherlin

Experience the woofderful city of Sutherlin and its namesake neighborhood, about 20 miles from Winston. You and your dog will love this neighborhood’s Sutherlin Dog Park! With two acres of fully fenced-in space, your dog will have tons of room to burn off some energy! There’s also furiffic seating areas for humans, plus shady spots, designated areas for large and small dogs, cleanup baggies and restrooms. Outside of the off-leash park, you and your leashed dog can take a jaunt through the adjacent Hartley Park on the puptastic paved walking path. Red Rock Trail is another pawsome activity for you and your dog in this neighborhood. This 1.75-mile scenic paved path is pawpular for walking and biking through the area.
