Dog Walking in Reedsport

A rainy Mediterranean climate with mild winters and dry summers will welcome you in Reedsport, a city in Douglas County, Oregon, located at the junction of Oregon Route 38 and U.S. Route 101. The city and neighboring Winchester Bay form the prominent “Heart of the Oregon Dunes”, a 47-mile area covered in sand stretching from Florence to North Bend. Reedsport offers plenty of opportunities for outdoor fun at the dunes, forests, and even its very own dog park. The downtown area features a few pet-friendly eateries and two veterinary clinics.

You'd be barking mad to visit Reedsport and not drop by Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, complete with OHV riding opportunities, hiking trails, camping, picnicking, and wildlife viewing! Leashed pooches are welcome in most areas of the park, including Cape Perpetua Scenic Area and Botanical Area, but can’t play in beach areas. It goes without saying that you'll need to bring plenty of water and waste bags with you to the dunes.

Tired of leashes and rules? Time to head to Champion Dog Park, an amazing 7-acre dog spot with plenty of room to run and two areas for small and large breeds to play separately! The place is perfect for travelers, easy to find, and has all the amenities you'll need, including drinking water and benches.
