Lakeside is a small bedroom community in Coos County, Oregon. This lovely town sits on the Pacific Ocean and borders the Tenmile Lake and Tenmile Creek, perfect for any water loving pup. Although there are no veterinarians located in Lakeside, just next door in Reedsport there are two great facilities you can visit.

Take Fido out for a nice meal at the Lakeshore Lodge Restaurant. This dogtastic restaurant sits along Tenmile Lake and offers a great view from their dog friendly patio. They offer house specialties, like local seafood and steak that your pup will be drooling over.

The Tenmile Lake Park and Boat Ramp is the perfect park to take Fido out to for an amazing day. The park offers five boat ramps, two docks, a fishing dock, a picnic area, horseshoe courts, and a swimming area. Your pup will love getting a walk in on the shore of the lake, and the park also provides restrooms and a covered picnic area the two of you can use.

If you and your pup love camping, check out the William M. Tugman State Park Campgrounds for a fun adventure under the stars. The campgrounds welcome your pup to stay a few night's with you under the stars while you explore the park.

Take your pup out on an amazing hike along the John Dellenback Dunes Trail. The trail will give you both a breathtaking view of the Oregon Dunes, and passes through a forest, and out towards the beach. With a 5.5-mile distance, 311-foot elevation gain, and a loop style route, this trail is perfect for just about anyone looking for a great adventure in nature. You will hike through sand and some wetlands, so make sure you and your pup are equipped to handle the terrain. Your pup needs to stay on leash while you hike, and make sure to bring plenty of water with you.

The William M. Tugman State Park is a great area that you and your dog can explore together. The park offers great amenities like fishing, swimming, canoeing, boating, and sailing if your pup loves the water. If he would rather keep his paws on land, take advantage of the hiking trails that go around the south part of the lake and take you through a nature area that your dog will love sniffing. While visiting the park, make sure to keep your dog on leash and bring water along with you. Your pup is also allowed in the campground and cabins that the park offers for a pawtastic overnight stay.

The park has dogtastic amenities like sand dunes, fishing, boating, and camping, and sits along the Winchester Bay, less then a mile from the Salmon Harbor. There is a small sandy beach area at the park where you and Fido can walk along the water and relax before heading home. Hang out at Champion Park with your pup for a great afternoon out in nearby Reedsport. This park offers an off-leash dog park that is 7-acres of grass that your pup can run on. The dog park has a separated area for large and small dogs, plus clean-up bags and benches that owners can relax on. There is also water available for pups and restrooms for owners. If your pup doesn't want to socialize, take him out to Champion Park which features a river to splash in, and a great walking trail you can use for a walk together.

If Fido is a beach loving dog, take him out to Horsfall Beach. The beach is in the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area and sits along the Pacific Coast. There are 47-miles of dunes that you and your pup can walk along, but make sure to keep your pup on a leash while visiting. The beach also offers a picnic area with grills, so you and your pup can enjoy a meal near the gorgeous. Located in North Bend and only thirteen miles out of Lakeside, your pup will love hanging out at this beach with you.
