This trail is supported by the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, and is a wonderful place to take Fido for a stroll. You can access the trail near Veterans Memorial Highway. The path travels to the north into Providence, and south to Bristol on 14 miles of paved trail. You can walk with your pooch and admire the scenery and wonderful views. If you are looking for a shorter hike, take the 4 mile bike path near the Metacomet Country Club down to Crescent Park. You will need to remember to bring doggie waste bags and plenty of water.

When Fido needs a place to run and roam, Kent Heights Athletic and Recreation Area offers 21-acres of open space. You can take your pup to play on the ball field, and the kids can play on the basketball or tennis courts. There is a well-maintained walking path where you can stroll with your pooch while he sniffs the plants and trees, and has a puptastic time. While the kids hang out at the playground, relax on one of the shaded benches and chat with friends. You can even bring a picnic lunch and eat at one of the picnic pavilions while spending quality time with your pup.

Riverside
Sabin Point Park is located next to Sabin Point Reach, and offers a wonderful place to spend time with your pup. On a sunny day, you can walk around the park or sit on a bench and watch the fishermen. If you are out with the kids, they will have a great time on the playground, and you and Fido can stroll around the area admiring the flowers. There are no restrooms or water fountains available, so you will need to bring your own water bottles. Be sure to also bring doggie waste bags so you can clean up after your pup.
