Membership is to ensure that all the dogs that come and play have their shots and are not aggressive. It is a small dog park. They do not provide water or cleaning stations, so you will need to bring your own supplies. For a quiet spot to just play, this is the place to come. It is perfect for getting away and has plenty of shady spots to sit and read a good book in.

Pineville-Mattews

The William Davies Dog Park, located just 25 miles from Catawba, is wonderfully set up. You can choose to walk the trails with your dog while she is on her leash, or you can let her off of her leash and let her play in the fenced-in area. The park provides drinking water and cleaning stations. All you need to do is come and sit while your dog plays! There is plenty of room to run and play, but there are also lots of toys to play with as well, so don't worry if you forget your pal's favorite ball.

Colony Road

Hankering for a bite to eat, but don't want to leave your best fur-iend at home? The Lodge is a great place to grab a burger. You can get a classic burger loaded all the way with toppings. Or, you could grab a something completely new and add a little bit of spice. All of the outdoor tables are fur-friendly. You can almost always catch a game on the big screen here, making it the perfect place to grab a beer and relax. It is about a thirty-minute drive, but it is well worth it because it is the perfect place to meet up with friends and bring your dog along with you on your adventure!

Providence Road

Hickory Tavern is another option for you while you are in Charlottesville, about thirty miles from Catawba. The patio is perfect no matter what the weather is because there are large fans in the summer and heaters in the winter. Your dog can join you anytime that you want to. The fare is your choice of classics, from tacos to burgers and everything in between. Meet your friends here for drinks while you catch the score or stay and cheer with the crowd for the entire game. There is always a sense of excitement no matter what team is playing.

McAlpine Creek

Fetching Meadows is a two-acre dog park that is completely fenced in, making it the pawfect place to let your dog off of her leash so she can run and play.
