“Truly love all animals”

I grew up around all types/temperaments/sizes of dogs and have always had an affinity and love for all animals. I have my bachelors in Animal Science. My compassion in life is animals, especially dogs. I love getting to know a dog’s unique personality, their quirks and what makes them happy. I consider myself to be responsible, honest, respectful, and considerate. My dogs are my babies so I know how important your dogs are to you, and I always treat/love every dog I meet like my own babies!

Dog Walking in Dentsville

Just eight miles outside of the capital, the town of Dentsville, South Carolina is often just grouped in with the northeastern part of Columbia. Locals just refer to it as “out there on Decker Boulevard.” However, make no mistake: Dentsville is its own town. The town serves as a bedroom community for Columbia, with many people preferring to commute into the city for work while still enjoying the quieter environment Dentsville has to offer. This is a huge plus for dog owners, though. Columbia being so close by means you and Fido get to enjoy all the perks the larger city has.

Just a fifteen-minute drive up the road, you’ll find numerous veterinarian offices that can take care of your pup in sickness or in health. There are also two emergency veterinarian clinics in Columbia, so if something happens to your pup after hours, you’re covered. With several dog parks, you’ll also have the opportunity to let your dog enjoy some off-leash exercise. There are also many dog-friendly eateries. Whether you enjoy the more relaxed life of a small town or the hustle and bustle of a nearby city, Dentsville has plenty to offer you and your pup.

Located just outside of Dentsville – no, really, just steps – is Boeshreen, a local Libyan restaurant that will leave you simultaneously stuffed and wanting more! This eatery serves up amazing Greek salads, falafel, and stuffed peppers. Want something a little more familiar? They also have chicken wings. Boeshreen has several outdoor tables where your four-legged friend can join you while you get your grub on. He’ll need to be on a leash at all times, and he’s also expected to be on his best behavior. If your dog’s a good boy, make sure to reward him with a treat. Bone Appetit!

Local dog owners love Sesquicentennial State Park, which is only about five minutes from Dentsville, and for good reason. This state park has its very own dog park! The opportunities for you to have fun with your adventurous dog here are endless. If you want to get some exercise with your pup, head out on one of the trails. While hiking the trails, Fido has to stay on his leash. You run the risk of getting ticketed if your dog isn’t leashed. The dog park is a designated off-leash area, so your pooch will have the chance to make some pawesome new friends.

About twenty minutes from Dentsville is Saluda Shoals Barking Lot. Despite the name, this isn’t a parking lot for dogs; in fact, we bet your dog won’t be able to stay still! There’s plenty of room for even the most energetic dogs to run around and play, whether they want to play a game of fetch or just go running after their new furry friends. You’ll want to bring some water and waste disposal bags to clean up any messes, as none are provided for you. Have a ball at Saluda Shoals Barking Lot!

The historic Earlewood District of Columbia is only six miles from Dentsville, and it’s also home to NOMA Bark Park. NOMA, which stands for “North Main”, charges an annual fee of $25 to use this bark park, but it’s definitely worth it. The dog park supplies plenty of waste disposal bags and water for your pup. A bonus? NOMA Bark Park also comes filled with toys, from tennis balls to ropes for tug-o-war. All you need to bring is your dog! Breed restrictions do apply; you can check out their website for more information.

Five Points is notorious for being a college-kid neighborhood, but it should also be known for how dog-friendly it is! This neighborhood, which is about fifteen minutes from Dentsville, has several dog-friendly restaurants and bars where Fido can join you on the patio. A leash is required at each of these establishments. Five Points is also home to Emily Douglas Dog Park, which is Columbia’s only free dog park. You’ll still want to bring along some water and waste disposal bags. There’s plenty of seating for dog parents while their playful pooch explores the park.
