Located in the downtown area, the Fred Miller Park is a huge space with walking trails, picnic shelters, and play areas. You and your pup can get some exercise walking along the paths admiring the gardens, and three times around the paved path equals a mile. Your pup may also enjoy walking down by the stream and getting his feet wet, or you can relax on a bench and watch the kids play on the unique playground equipment. Just remember to bring your own doggie waste bags and dispose of trash in the receptacles.

Liberty Heights

Liberty Heights

The Liberty Heights neighborhood is home to the Morristown Dog Park, a great place to let your pooch socialize with friends. The double gated entry ensures all pups are safe, and they can roll and romp in the grass and sniff the shade trees. There is fresh water available in the park, and free doggie waste bags are provided. You will often see your friends and neighbors at the park with their pups, and you can relax on a shaded bench and chat. The park also offers lights at night so you can take Fido to the park for his evening run and make sure he is tired before going to bed.

If you are looking for fun activities for Fido and the family, head over to the Frank Lorino Park where you can walk your pup and the kids can play disk golf or hang out at the skate park. The paved walkway is perfect to give Fido his exercise, and you can walk several laps around the park for a longer workout. You can also relax on a bench and watch the kids play on the playground. If you need a pooch-friendly place to stay, Days Inn and Deluxe Inn both welcome pups for an additional fee. Just make sure to make reservations in advance.

Cherokee Park is located on Marshalls Shoals, and features a large area where you can spend time with the family and your pup. There are well-kept walking trails where you and your pooch can walk and admire the local plants and wildlife. The park is well maintained, making it safe to walk through the forest with the kids and pups without tripping over debris or trash. Families also enjoy hanging out at the pavilions for a picnic lunch or take the boat out on the lake. You will need to bring your own doggie waste bags and make sure to clean up after Fido.

Woodcrest Hills

Woodcrest Hills

One of the most popular destinations in Tennessee is the Panther Creek State Park on the shores of Cherokee Lake. You can take the kids and your pup to the park to spend the day exploring the hiking trails and letting Fido sniff all the plants and animals. You should also bring your picnic basket and find a quiet spot next to the lake for lunch. Fido needs to stay on his leash, but he can run around along the shore of the lake and get his feet wet. You will probably see a lot of other pups and their parents out playing in the woods so Fido can socialize and get rid of his excess energy.
