West Arlington

If you’re searching for a fun off-leash area for your dog, check out Rush Creek Dog Park. This dog park is just 1.5 miles from Pantego, and it features separate fenced areas for large and small dogs. Both areas have wide-open fields where dogs can run and play, and there are shade structures to keep you and your pup cool. If your dog gets thirsty while they’re playing, water is available. If you want to get a bite to eat with your dog after the park, head to Jambo’s BBQ Shack. This casual eatery serves classic Texas barbeque dishes, including ribs, brisket, and pulled pork platters. Mountain Creek

Mountain Creek is home to Cedar Ridge Nature Preserve, a puptastic place to take your dog for an on-leash hike. This preserve is 16 miles from Pantego, and it has nine miles of trails to explore with your dog. If you’d like to hike around a lake, try the 2.2-mile Cedar Brake Trail. This trail also takes you through a beautiful wooded area. Or, if you’d like to hike around lovely Cattail Pond, try the 2.5-mile Escarpment Trail.
