When you are in the Rockdale City Center, a great park to head to with your furry friend is the Rockdale City Park. This place has plenty of green grass and trees for your pooch to wander around and investigate, as well as a playground to keep the kids amused. There is a picnic table in the shade for chilling out too. Since the playground is open, it is best to keep your pup on leash. For a place to camp out, you can stop at the Rockdale RV Park. Furry friends are welcome here on leash to camp under the stars or hook up the RV.

Quinif

For a day trip, check out the puptown of Cameron, which is 17 miles north of Rockdale. Here you will find the pawsome Wilson-Ledbetter Park. This is a gorgeous 25 acre park that offers a scenic spot to exercise your pup. There are sniff-tastic walking trails, plenty of green grass and trees, and the historic Brushy Creek iron bridge. Doesn’t that sound puptastic? In addition, you have the oppawtunity to spot plenty of wildlife that live here. Because of this, it is recommended to keep your pup on leash when visiting Wilson-Ledbetter Park.

Lexington

17 miles south from Rockdale is the town of Lexington. This is a pawsome place to tour when you are around the area, and Sonny’s RV Park offers the best spot to stop! Here you will find plenty of green grass for your pooch to run around, with shade under the 150 year old trees in the park. You can access RV hookups and the camping grounds where you can spend the night with your pooch. For a bite to eat, stop by Snow’s BBQ. This is one of the best places for Texas style BBQ food and has even won awards! The best part is that your dog is welcome to join you at your table.

N Main St/ E Lake Dr

If you head west 25 miles to Taylor, there is a pawsome place to visit with your pup; Murphy Park. Here your pooch has over 120 acres to explore, with a beautiful walking trail that wanders around the lake. This is great spot to retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city, and there is plenty of grass for your dog to enjoy. Since this is a public park, all furry friends must be kept on leash. If you fancy a frozen treat, you can head to the Dairy Queen and enjoy a dipped cone or sundae. Your pup is welcome to join you at one of the outdoor tables.

S Main St/ Rices Crossing Rd

While you are exploring Taylor, west of Rockdale, this neighborhood has a puptastic park where you can bring your dog to exercise. Fannie Robinson Park is a pawsome 55 acre spot that has lots of grass for your pooch to roll and roam, as well as picnic tables for a rest. Since there are grills, you have the oppawtunity to have a fun family day out here! In addition, Hidalgo Park also offers a pleasant place to go with your pup. You can wander around the walking path and watch the world go by on one of the benches. While it can be a 25 mile journey to Taylor, these pawsome parks make the journey worth it for you and your pooch!
