Hello! My name is Maia, I work for an environmental advocacy group! I have grown up around all different animals, but more notably, dogs. I've had many different breeds from west highland terriers, to pit-bulls to name a few! I absolutely adore animals. I think it must be in my blood because my grandmother was even buried with the ashes of some of her pets. I currently live in an apartment building with my boyfriend and two crazy cats, but I miss having a dog around for sure. My current job is remote and extremely flexible. I love nature, and hiking so getting outside with your pooch sounds absolutely ideal!

Hi, I'm Jessica! I've had pets my entire life (dogs & cats!) I believe that compassion is the best way to approach our four legged friends and I have worked with various breeds through adopting rescue dogs, volunteering at animal shelters such as the ASPCA and helping out friends and family members with their pets. I live a very active lifestyle and one of my favorite activities is hiking with my dog DJ.

“Down to earth pet-lover.”

I’m Bexx. I am an avid pet lover, and so excited to help get some dogs out in the fresh air, where I love to be every day. I started my own pet-sitting business when I was 8 or 9- complete with business cards I designed on a very rickety computer game. During high school, I worked at a zoo learning & teaching about, and even training hundreds of different animals! I love working with dogs- I am patient, competent, and firm. I practice positive reinforcement and will play with your dog too!

Dog Walking in Brattleboro

Situated on the edge of Vermont along the Connecticut River, Brattleboro is known for its historic downtown district, thriving antique shops, and flourishing arts scene. Planning to visit Brattleboro with your doggo? Don't worry, there are enough activities to keep Fido entertained here. Caring for the town's four-legged residents and tourists are four veterinary hospitals.

For a short, easy hike just outside of downtown, take Fido for a leashed walk on the Retreat Trails. Many of these trails are over a century old and well-graded, allowing for a pleasant walk or bike ride in nature. Aside from the scenery, keep your eyes peeled for the Retreat Tower, a well-known landmark that was built by asylum patients in 1887. The Retreat Trails also lead to and from Harris Hill Ski Jump.

If you're in the northern part of town, you and your pup can get some exercise and fresh air at the Hillwinds Trails. Popular among hikers, mountain bikers, and trail runners, these trails total 3.7 miles and are ranked easy to moderate. The 2.7-mile main trail network meanders through a mature white pine forest, while a 1.8-mile loop is available as well.

Come see what Brattleboro, the small town nestled along the shore of New England's largest river, is all about!

The Creamery Bridge is a classic covered bridge that has changed little over the years. Now only open to foot traffic, it offers a nice picnic area and beautiful views of a crystal clear creek below. After checking out this popular tourist spot, you and your pooch can head to the nearby Living Memorial Park, which contains easy to moderate trails for hiking and mountain biking. Dogs are welcome at the park, but must stay leashed. If all that walking has left you hungry, stop by the dog-friendly Vermont Country Deli, where you can enjoy a variety of prepared foods, sandwiches, pastries, and specialty food items at one of their outdoor picnic tables.

Looking for a spot in Brattleboro where you can take an easy, scenic hike with your furry buddy? You'll find it next to the West River. The West River Trail is an old railroad bed that once served the West River Railroad, but these days, this unpaved trail attracts hikers and mountain bikers thanks to its fairly level surface and beautiful views. It stretches 16 miles, connecting Brattleboro to South Londonderry. Before setting off on the West River Trail, it's a good idea to eat something first, which you can do at The Porch Cafe or Top of the Hill Grill. Both places offer pooch-friendly tables outside.

If Fido is up for a bit of a challenge, bring him to Round Mountain in West Brattleboro for a hike. Located on the property of Lilac Ridge Farm, the 1.2-mile trail travels through pastoral farm fields and woods before inclining steeply towards the top. Once you and your pooch reach the summit vistas, you'll be greeted by great views to the east and south. Be sure to bring water and some snacks for yourself and your hiking buddy, so you can replenish your energy while enjoying the views before heading back down. For a quick nature getaway with your pup, there's Fort Dummer State Park. Named after the first permanent white settlement in the state, the park is big enough to keep things interesting, but small enough to make it a day trip. The Fort Dummer State Park comprises 217 acres of forest land, as well as the 0.8-mile Sunrise Trail and 0.5-mile Sunset Trail. The trails are easy to hike and will lead you and Fido among various tree species, the most common of which are white, red, and chestnut oaks. If you'd like to stay longer, the park has a campground with several tent, trailer, and lean-to sites.
