River Street
If your dog loves playing off-leash, they’re sure to enjoy spending time in North Adams Dog Park. This dog park is located right next to the Hoosic River, and it has two separate sections: one for large dogs and one for small dogs. Both sections are fully fenced, and they have lots of space for dogs to run around. There’s no water available in the park, so it’s a good idea to bring some with you. After the park, put your dog’s leash back on and take them for a stroll on the nearby paved path along the Hoosic River. You and your dog will both have a great time walking here!

Canal Street
This North Adams neighborhood is home to the Museum of Dog, a museum dedicated to man’s best friend. This museum has over 180 pieces on display, including historic photographs of dogs, dog sculptures, and rare collars from the 1800s. Dogs are welcome in this unique museum on-leash. If you and your dog want to stretch your legs after the museum, head to Colgrove Park, a small community park with a large grassy area. If you’re hungry after your walk, check out The Hub. Sit at one of their dog-friendly outdoor tables, and enjoy all-American fare, including grilled cheese, pulled pork sandwiches, and pot pie.

Natural Bridge State Park
If you’re looking for a beautiful place to hike in North Adams, head to Natural Bridge State Park. This 48-acre park is famous for its “natural bridge,” a 550-million-year-old white marble arch which sits above the Hudson Brook. If you want to get an up-close view of the bridge, the park has a 0.25-mile walkway that goes around the bridge. If you want a slightly longer walk, Natural Bridge State Park also has a 0.5-mile trail that takes you through the woods. Bring some water and doggy bags for your dog, and have a great time exploring this stunning park!

Taconic Trail State Park
Taconic Trail State Park is another picturesque place to take your pup for an on-leash hike. Located 10 miles from North Adams, this park has lots of different trails to hike on with your dog. If you want to climb up high, try the Fitch Trail. This trail takes you up to the peak of Bee Hill, which has an elevation of 1,427 feet. You could also go on the Sheep Hill Trail, which takes you on a loop around lovely Sheep Hill. Or, you could go on the RRR Brook trail, which goes along a peaceful brook. Your dog will love trekking around this scenic park!

Harwood Hill Road
This Bennington neighborhood is home to Walloomsac Path, a great place to take your dog for an on-leash walk. Located 18 miles from North Adams, this pathway takes you along the Walloomsac River. The path is paved and flat, making it easy for your dog to walk on. Bring some water, and enjoy strolling this scenic trail with your dog. If you’re hungry after your walk, head over to The Publyk House. This historic tavern welcomes dogs at their scenic outdoor deck. To eat, they serve delicious all-American fare, including steak, burgers, and pulled pork sandwiches.
