Steiger Park is also on the edge of the water, with a trail the encircles the park and follows along the river. There is a large open space, benches, and water fountains for Fido. Middle Village is a neighborhood along the north side of Fox River, with access to shopping districts and busy streets. Right on the river is the Carl E Steiger Park, a large but scenic park with pretty views of the river that includes shaded sitting areas, a paved trail along the river, access to fishing, and a playground. The park connects to another dog-friendly park known as Shapiro Park, which also rests along the river. This park has larger open space, but less trees, with additional features like water fountains, and benches, Both parks are open from dawn until dusk and require dogs to be on a leash.

The Central Oshkosh neighborhood rests on the southern side of the Fox River at its convergence to the Winnebago Lake. Right on the river's edge is the Pioneer Drive Park. The park has a .3-mile trail that follows along the river, with shaded sitting areas and open space to run around. Dogs will have plenty of space to run around and play here, but don't forget to bring some water and clean-up bags. This neighborhood also houses Franklin Park, an area surrounded by residential homes with a looping trail and a fenced-in baseball diamond. The Downtown District of Oshkosh is a mixture of urban businesses and residential homes. It is also home to one of the largest parks in the city known as South Park.
