Central Calexico is a quiet neighborhood on the west side of the city's downtown area, offering a suburban residential area. Inside the space is Emerson Park, a dog-friendly park with open grassy areas and a fenced-in baseball field. Park-goers can enjoy other amenities like restrooms, a picnic shelter with picnic tables, shaded sitting areas, and a playground. Heber Park is another dog-friendly park in the area that provides another open space to play in for pups, but also has a lot more shade, a playground, and two picnic shelters. South Calexico is a residential neighborhood right along the Mexican border of the city. Inside the community are multiple dog-friendly parks, the first being Cortez Park.
