A great trail that you and your dog can walk that starts in Capron is the Long Prairie Trail. This trail is fairly long, almost 14 miles, and it's asphalted all the way. Pooches are allowed to explore the trail as long as they are leashed. At both ends of the trail, you can find plenty of parking and restrooms for the humans. The scenic views along the way are sure to make your buddy beg to come back! The trail is wheelchair accessible and bikers are allowed to use it as well. Don't forget to bring pawlenty of water for Fido and waste baggies to clean up along the way.

If you prefer letting your doggo run around freely in a fenced area, then head 19 miles away from Capron to the eastern side of Rockford. Elliott Dog Park offers separate areas for little and large doggos, and it's quite a large park. Lots of trees and places to be explored are available, and there is a water source for the pooches as well. The park is very clean and well-maintained, so make sure you're a respawnsible dog parent and clean up after your dog. There is a mud hole in one part of the park, so if your dog likes to mud-dive, it's a good idea to bring a towel!

Seventeen miles away from Capron is where you'll find one of the most fun experiences that you can offer your pooch if they love swimming! Dog Paddle Beach is a dog swimming facility where doggies can swim for fun or for rehabilitation. The weather won't be a problem because they have an indoor pool where doggos can swim and stay warm even in the winter months. This four-acre park offers open space for off-leash playing and plenty of shade to shelter the pups from overheating. In the park, there is a shelter which is adjacent to a water spigot.
