Marengo, Illinois is located within McHenry County, and was founded in 1835. The interesting name, Marengo, stems from the Battle of Marengo during the French Revolution. In the city of Marengo, there are two dog-friendly lodging accommodations. Both of the accommodations are affordable and allow multiple pets to stay at one time – even bigger dogs.

There are two dog-friendly restaurants in Marengo: Joe’s Place and Café 20. Joe’s Place serves a variety of meal options such as lasagna and soups. The most popular dish on the menu is called “Grandma Pearl’s Pulled Pork Sandwich.” Two outside tables are designated as dog-friendly, so you can enjoy some delicious barbecue while spending quality time with your dog. Café 20 is well known for its welcoming atmosphere where you can enjoy a meal or a drink with Fido. Dogs are welcome to dine at the outdoor tables here. The café’s menu ranges from appetizers to full-on meals, including build-your-own burgers, pizza, and pasta!

Although the two restaurants in Marengo are puptastic places to grab some grub, numerous other dog-friendly restaurants are just around the bend, in the cities of Algonquin and Crystal Lake.
