My name is Sophie, and I am a dog lover through and through. My family rescued and trained three dogs while I was growing up, and they were a big part of our family. We were very involved with the rescue that saved our dogs, and I hope to make dog adoption easier for others with my commitment to dog-walking. I was a dog sitter throughout my time in college, and I love walking dogs to give them the exercise and outdoor time they need to be healthy, loving members of the family.

Hi! My name is Jen and I have been a Wag! Walker for a year and a half now. I love this job because I love dogs and I love being outside. I always think safety first when it comes to walking your pup. I keep dogs away from the street, other animals, and anything that might trigger them to pull. I can't wait to meet your pup. Huntley is a village that lies between McHenry and Kane Counties in Illinois. If you find yourself with your pooch in the Huntley area and you need a place to stay, you should visit the Huntley AirBnB Rentals. This restaurant is also dog-friendly and offers different kinds of meals for every taste. You can dine with your dog at the outdoor seating area.

Huntley doesn't have any dog parks of its own, but you can find one a short drive away in Crystal Lake. Head over to the Hound Town Dog Park, within the larger Lippold Park. The dog park is 3 acres for dogs to play around and socialize off-leash. This is a members-only park, so you'll need to pay a fee to the city parks department before visiting. The park has a large dog area and a small dog area. There are lots of water bowls and waste bags there, so you don't have to worry about remembering to bring any of that. It's very clean and shaded and has benches for the pet owners. All you need to bring is your sense of adventure and Fido's favorite toy!

Around 9 miles away from Huntley is another dog park called Schweitzer Woods Forest Preserve, located in West Dundee. In this preserve, you can find a 5-acre dog park where dogs can run around off-leash. The park is properly fenced and includes grassy areas and wooded paths. There are no poop bags provided and no trash stations, so you should be prepared for that. The park is free and there is no permit needed for entering. There is water available, but you should bring water bowl for your four-legged baby. Be aware that the park might get muddy when it rains.

This 7-acre park was opened in 2014 to give all the pups in the area a place to play off-leash. The park is completely fenced, and if you decide to visit, you should bring your own water. Make sure you bring poop bags as well so you can clean up after your pupper. The permits for residents are $65 and $130 for non-residents. The park is fenced so your dog can play here safely off-leash. The Lake in the Hills Dog Park offers water on-site and is separated into different areas for large dogs and small dogs. The park is very shaded, which makes it the perfect spot for cooling off on the warm days. In the summer, they put out kiddie pools for the dogs, so be sure to bring a towel! There is a great trail in the vicinity of Huntley called Pratt's Wayne Woods Forest Preserve, about 25 miles away from Huntley. The designated off-leash area for dogs in the Pratt's Wayne Woods Forest Preserve is fenced on three sides, so if you have a runner, you might want to keep the leash on. The area is open from one hour after sunrise to one hour after sunset. You will need a permit to enter the area, which is $40 for residents and $150 for non-residents. But don't worry if you don't want to buy an annual pass; there are daily permits that can be obtained on-site. Dogs are also welcome on the other trails at the preserve, but they must be on-leash. Make sure you bring water and poop bags!
