The small town of Clifton is directly adjacent to Cedarville, and boasts some gorgeous natural areas that your pooch will love exploring. The ten acre Clifton Reserve is the pawfect place to begin your day, with plenty of picnic areas, river access points and observation decks from where you and Fido can watch the wildlife frolic about. Once you have explored the reserve, head on over to the John Bryan State Park, which stretches out for 752 acres. Famous for being one of the most scenic state parks in western Ohio, you will find everything from playgrounds and campgrounds to hiking and biking trails here.

Yellow Springs
About three miles from Cedarville lies the small town of Yellow Springs, which provides all you need for a pawsome day out with your pooch. Start your day at Gaunt Park, which is home to sports facilities, a swimming pool and a tree-shaded walking path. Your pup will no doubt love meeting all of the other dogs that use the walking path here, but make sure you keep your pooch on a lead at all times. Xenia City Center
Just over four miles from Cedarville is the City Center of Xenia, which is home to a couple of pawtastic hiking trails. The incredibly scenic Creekside Trail follows along both the Shawnee Creek and the Little Beaver Creek, and stretches out for 15 miles. Also in this neighborhood, and connecting on to the Creekside Trail, is the 78 mile Little Miami Scenic Trail, which is the longest single trail in the Miami Valley trail network. The Xenia portion of the trail will take you through some picturesque wooded areas, with a few historic landmarks along the way. While dogs are allowed to use both of these trails, a lead, doggie bags and drinking water are essential.

Jamestown Village Center
The Jamestown Village Center is about a five minute drive from Cedarville, and boasts some pawriffic dog walks. The 42 acre Frank Seaman Park is always popular, with its sports facilities, play areas, picnic shelters, grills, and paved walking path that loops its way around the park. The park also provides access to the Xenia-Jamestown Connector, a 17 mile trail that follows along an old historic railroad from the 1870's. The trail mainly cuts through areas of farmland, but is well-shaded the whole way with large trees. Both the park and the trail welcome dogs, so long as they are kept on a lead at all times.

Oldtown
Xenia's Oldtown neighborhood is about five miles from Cedarville, and the journey is worth it for all of the fun your pooch will have here. If your pup would like to run free off the lead, head to the 33 acre Pierce County Park, which is not only home to several picnic shelters and hiking trails, but also to the two acre Scout Burnell-Garbrecht Dog Park. This fenced-off dog park features separate runs for smaller and larger breeds, as well as doggie water fountains, but you will need to bring your own dog bowl and doggie bags. Oldtown also provides access to the 20.6 acre Sol Arnovitz Park, which is the largest park in Xenia, but also one of the least developed. This means that there are plenty of green areas for your pup to explore, as well as picnic shelters and fishing spots.
