For a fun daycation with the whole furry family, you can load up the car and drive the 35 miles out to the city of Columbus!

This is the nearest access point to the Prairie Grass Trail, a 29-mile path that stretches from London to Xenia.

Hueston Woods State Park

Pets are welcome at most Ohio State Parks, including Hueston Woods Park in College Corner, OH. Just an hour’s drive from South Charleston, this beautiful park has so much to offer visitors, including those of the four-legged variety! You can expect to pay a pet fee of $1 for pups, but it’s worth it for the dog park alone. Though the area is not fenced, dogs of all sizes can run around on three acres of well-shaded grass. You can also leash up Fido and explore other areas of the park, such as the hiking trails, fishing pier, or even the beach!

Oakcrest

Oakcrest is a small community within Springfield, ideal for pet parents looking for suburban living in a well-known city. This quaint town is the pawfect place for outdoorsy pets and their parents to settle down. Just a few minutes away is Old Reid Park, which welcomes four-legged friends to the Wiggley Field Dog Park. Here, you’ll find separate sections for large and small dogs, water fountains, and a seating area for you to hang out nearby.
