Tucked along the banks of the Snolquamie River, Duvall, WA is a slice of small town America just twenty-five miles from Seattle. Family-friendly and thriving, the town is most famous (or infamous) for a concert it hosted back in 1968, when an upright piano was dropped from a helicopter. Though things have certainly slowed down since the sixties, Duvall still knows how to throw a party, and many town festivals and events take place during the summer. Visit in July or August and you and your pooch can catch a free live show or even a movie in the park! In terms of pet care, there are two veterinary clinics in town to look after your buddy, with 24-hour care available in Redmond.

Duvall definitely welcomes wagging tails with open arms! The town has its own dog park, and there are several community parks in the area that are ideal for leashed walks. Duvall is also surrounded by some of the most splendid scenery the Pacific Northwest has to offer. There are many pawesome hiking trails for you and your furry friend to sniff and explore, and if you and your canine companion are looking for some variety in your entertainment, you’ll find plenty of options for off-leash adventures and doggy dining just a short drive away!

Duvall’s Dog Park might be a little rough around the edges, but it’d a huge faux paws not to visit! Acknowledged by the authorities but described as "unofficial", this off-leash area has a whopping 3.5 acres of open green space for your pooch to leap about and tire themselves out in. The area isn’t fenced, though it is surrounded by thick brush, and you’ll need to bring your own bags and water. Afterwards, you two can chow down at the Duvall Tavern. This local landmark serves up a seriously special burger, and caters to canine customers at their outdoor patio.

For dog-friendly hiking, look no fur-ther than the Snoqualmie Valley Trail! This 33-mile trail runs right through Duvall’s McCormick Park. You’ll find plenty of parking at the park’s Stephen Street entrance. A converted railway track, the popular walking route follows the Snoqualmie River as it winds through forest and farmland and past some ruins and sites of historical interest. Different parts of the trail have different terrain, so be sure to look up a map before you go! Your pooch will need to be leashed, of course, and remember to bring your own bags and water.

This pawesome park is one of the largest in the area -- there’s a whole eight acres of wide open space, ideal for games of tug of war or catch! Unlike the park in Duvall, the dog run is fenced, and water, bags, and toys are provided. There’s no separate area for small dogs, so be mindful of your pup’s temperament. As a bonus, there’s also plenty of seats for tired humans, so you can relax and take in the view if you feel like your pooch has been walking you!
