When you want to get some exercise with your special pal, head about 5.5 miles south to the South Lake Trailhead off Old Highway 50 in Clermont. This thirteen-mile trail stretches from Killarney Station outside of Orlando to Lake Minneola in Clermont. Dogs on leashes are permitted to join you on this scenic trail.

Another pawtastic trail that you can hike with Fido is the Lake Apopka Trail. Connect to this asphalt and crushed stone greenway at the Clay Island Trailhead, located about eleven miles north of Ferndale at the end of Carloyn Lane. 

If you're looking for a place to share an outdoor adventure with your special pal, drive about 15 miles south to Lake Louisa State Park. This 4,500-acre facility offers a range of activities including camping, fishing, boating, and hiking. When you want to get some exercise on a puptacular trail, take fido just north of town to the Green Mountain Scenic Overlook trailhead. This paved, multi-use trail offers spectacular views of the Lake County Region. Hike or jog along the pathway with your four-footed pal. The area includes benches, pet waste stations, water fountains, an observation tower, and more. Dogs are permitted provided they're kept on a leash that's no longer than six feet.

There are separate areas for large and small dogs and water fountains for you and your pooch. You can also leash up and walk the hiking trails through the preserve. You and your pooch can get a mile round-trip walking or jogging along the trail. After you get some exercise, stop by Green Mountain Pizza on 7th Street. Dogs are welcome to lounge by you at one of the outdoor tables while you enjoy a calzone, pasta, or pizza.
