The park also has two gazebos and a Mediterranean-style bandshell that’s on the National Register of Historic Places. This peaceful park is the perfect place to take a leisurely on-leash stroll with your dog. After your walk, treat your pup to lunch at The Great Pizza Company. This pizzeria welcomes dogs on their outdoor patio, and they’ll bring your pup a treat and a water bowl. While your dog enjoys their snack, you can dine on New York-style pizza and pasta dishes.

Lakeshore Drive

This Eustis neighborhood is home to another great park that welcomes dogs on-leash: Sunset Island Park. This park has a playground, volleyball courts, tennis courts, racquetball courts, picnic tables, and a quarter-mile path where you can take your pup for walks. Bring some water and doggy bags with you, and take a nice walk with your dog in this neighborhood park. After the park, continue your fun day out with lunch at nearby Barnwood BBQ & Country Kitchen. This casual spot has numerous dog-friendly outdoor tables, and serves classic barbecue dishes, including brisket, pulled pork, and ribs. This Fido-friendly eatery also offers delicious Southern breakfasts.

University Avenue

Looking for a park where your dog can play off-leash? Head over to Pear Park, which is about 19 miles from Eustis in Leesburg. This park offers three separate fenced-in areas — one for small dogs, one for medium dogs, and one for large dogs. Each area has a grassy field with plenty of space for your dog to run and play. There’s also water available for your pup. Your dog will always have a great time playing in this woof-derful dog park! If you want to go on a walk with your pup after the dog park, put their leash back on and take them for a stroll on Pear Park’s beautiful nature trails.

East Sixth Street

This Apopka neighborhood is home to another furrific off-leash area, Doctors’ Dog Park, which is 19 miles from Eustis. Here, your dog can make new friends in separate large and small dog areas. Both areas feature large fields that are perfect for frolicking and playing. If your dog gets messy while they’re playing, Doctors’ Dog Park has doggy showers you can use. There’s also drinking water available for your dog. If you want to grab a bite to eat with your pup after the dog park, head to The Catfish Place. Here, you can dine on Southern-style seafood dishes made with freshly caught seafood. Dogs are welcome on The Catfish Place’s outdoor patio.

East Ninth Avenue

Eustis’ neighboring town, Mount Dora, is home to a pawesome off-leash area called Mount Dora Dog Park. This dog park has separate areas for small, medium, and large dogs. All three areas are spacious and offer grassy fields where your dog can run and play. Plus, there’s also a small plastic pool your dog can splash around in on hot days. There are also water fountains available. Want to grab lunch with your dog after the dog park? Head over to Pisces Rising, a steakhouse and seafood restaurant that welcomes dogs on their beautiful terrace. If your pup is thirsty, your server will bring out a bowl of ice-cold water for them.
