Another really pawesome place to chow down is Lake Zoar Drive-in. They have the best burgers you can get in Connecticut! (We'll let you and Fido be the judge of that, though.) Your dog can join you at their outdoor tables. This drive-in is closed in the winter months. If you don't want a burger, try a chilidog or a brat. They also have shakes, ice cream, and smoothies. It is the place to be in the summer! Always remember to bring a leash. Dogs must be well-behaved and never left in the car alone, for their safety. Bone Appetit!

Webb Mountain
Webb Mountain Discovery Zone has many opportunities for the whole family to enjoy the outdoors. The park's motto is, "No child left inside," and that goes double for the fur-children! In addition to some easy loop trails, the park also offers summer education programs and even hosts birthday parties for kids. Your dog will need to be on a leash at all times, and you should always stay on the trails. Don't forget to bring water to drink while you walk. Monroe County Line
Rails-to-Trails is one of the most pawesome things to hit America. It is especially pawesome for dogs because this non-profit organization has given them 1,600 trails to sniff out! The Housatonic Railway Trail runs through the Monroe Housatonic Railbed, right alongside The Pequonnock River. Dogs must be leashed on this trail, but it spans quite a distance. You could spend the whole day trekking the trail! It goes through cities, parks, and greenways, so Fido should be good and tired when it's time to head back home. You will want to have plenty of water and waste bags with you for your hike.

Roxbury Road
Southbury is about fourteen miles from Monroe, but if you want a traditional dog park, it is worth the drive. Southbury Dog Park is an off-leash dog park where you can allow your dog to socialize and play safely while you watch. There is a stream for your pup to play in and trails to walk as well. This is the pawfect place for a game of fetch! You do have to clean up after your dog, but doggie waste bags are provided. There is no water in the winter, so you may need to bring your own.
