The quaint hamlet of Roosevelt is nestled in the town of Hampstead, New York. Named after former President Theodore Roosevelt, due to his integration of African American residents into the community after WWII, Roosevelt is a pawpulated hamlet which continues to grow and diversify. Furpups and their humans are welcome to visit Roosevelt and its surrounding towns for a barktastic weekend trip! No vets are located in the Roosevelt community, but several can be found in nearby Merrick and Baldwin.

Roosevelt has a wondfurful network of puptastic parks waiting to be explored with Fido. Check out the Centennial Park to shoot some hoops with your pup, take a walk, or just relax on under a shaded bench to catch your breath. The Centennial Park tends to get busy during the day, so try to go in the mornings when kids are at school.

The Rev. Arthur Mackey Senior Park is another pawpular park that offers plenty of beautiful and grassy, well-maintained grounds with a paved brick walking path; pawfect for strolling around on with a leashed pup by your side. Locals, two-legged and four-legged, love the friendliness of the many birds and ducks greeting you at the edge of the tranquil Smith Pond.
