This furiendly place attracts a lot of outdoor enthusiasts and we can’t blame them; there are some pawsome parks here that you can visit with your pup! To make sure your furry friend is happy and healthy, there are two veterinary clinics and animal hospitals in Fort Payne.
There is nothing better than a fun day out in the sun with your furry friend, so visit the Desoto State Park to brighten things up! This beautiful nature park has over 25 miles of sniff-tastic trails where you can burn some excitable puppy energy. Plus, you can enjoy the stunning views on Lookout Mountain, and of the waterfalls and colorful flora. There is plenty of oppawtunity to spot wildlife here. All pooches can be top dog at Desoto State Park, as long as they remain on leash.
You can also camp out under the stars at the Desoto State Park Campground with your pup! Here you can pitch up your own tent and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature with your family and pooch, as well as there being RV sites. Other amenities here include a restaurant for some treats, picnic area, playground for the kids and a seasonal swimming pool. All furry companions are welcome at the Desoto State Park Campground, as long as they remain on their leash and have all of their vaccinations and tags.

When you are in Fort Payne, you have got to visit the oldest park in town! Head on over to City Park with your pup, since there is plenty of green grass for rolling and roaming, as well as walking paths for a casual stroll. There is also a playground for the kids, and a picnic shelter and tables for enjoying a treat. If you are just passing through Fort Payne, head to the pawsome Econo Lodge. Here you can bring pups of any size to stay for the night for only a small additional fee. The pet friendly rooms are modern with air conditioning and coffeemakers, as well as cable television. With a complimentary continental breakfast in the morning and a swimming pool outside, you can rest in comfort!
If your pooch likes to ruff it, he will love the Little River Canyon National Preserve in Fort Payne! This is a puptastic place to spend the day outdoors, with the oppawtunity to hike and explore sniff-tastic nature trails. Your pup is sure to love investigating all of the new scents and sights of nature! What’s more, the visitor’s center is dog friendly, which means you and your furry friend can wander around. in Georgia to enjoy the outdoor fun of James H. (Sloppy)
Floyd State Park. Your pooch is sure to love this puptastic place, since there
are over five miles of sniff-tastic trails you can explore. Wander
around the picturesque lakes and enjoy the peacefulness of nature throughout the
woodland areas. Plus, you have the oppawtunity to spot the bluebirds that live
here! There are also lots of other features you can enjoy, such as pedal boats
on the lake and a playground for the kids. Dogs are always welcome at James H.
(Sloppy) Floyd State Park, as long as they remain on leash.
You won’t have to go far for an adventure with your pooch since the pawsome puptown of Fyffe is west of Fort Payne! Here you will find Buck’s Pocket State Park, which is a puptastic place to stretch your legs and enjoy some exercise with your furry friend. There are endless sniff-tastic trails you can hike and admire nature with your pup. This is the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, as you scout through the woodlands. Be sure to bring some water and treats for exploring! All pooches can be top dog here, as long as they remain on leash.
