Jacksonville
In the neighborhood of Jacksonville, just south of the base, you'll find a furriffic place for you and your pup to socialize and get some exercise. Head to Dupree Park off South Redmond Avenue. Let your pooch get some off-leash play time with other canine companions in the fenced dog park. If you want to spend some one-on-one time with your special pal, take advantage of the 1.3-mile paved trail that winds around this expansive facility. Hike or jog past Dupree Lake and the ball fields. Remember to keep your pup on a leash that's up to ten feet long when you're outside of the dog run.36

Forest Oaks
The small residential neighborhood of Forest Oaks is just south of the Air Force base. This quiet community is surrounded by wooded lots and provides a peaceful area for dogs and their owners to go for a walk. When you want to get some exercise, take your pooch over to Ron Newport Recycle Park off Marshall Road. This pawtastic green space includes an outdoor walking track, open fields, and a picnic area with a grill. Stretch your legs, then let your special pal relax by your side while you grab a snack in the park. Dogs need to be on a leash that's no longer than ten feet in this area.24

Central Jacksonville
The neighborhood of Central Jacksonville, just three miles from the base, is a residential area with tree lined streets. Here, you can go for a quiet walk with your four-footed friend. Bring along some burgers or dogs and grill out at Galloway Park. This small green space in the center of the neighborhood has picnic tables and benches. You can also head to Johnson Park and take a walk through the woods with your pup. Dogs are welcome to join you in city parks as long as they're restrained by a leash that's no longer than ten feet. Catch view of deer, Canada Geese, and more in this charming green space. Bring along a snack and enjoy a picnic with your furry friend at one of the tables. Dogs are permitted in this public facility as long as you keep them on a leash and pick up after them.
