Jacksonville
Eight miles from Sherwood is Dupree Park in Jacksonville. You will have to take a quite a walk to get to the dog park area. It’s hidden behind the ball fields and out of the way so that you and Fido aren’t bothered by the noisy kids playing ball. There are a couple of paved trails where you can take your dog for a walk, as long as she doesn’t mind wearing a leash. The fenced-in park is a wide open area that is double gated so that Fido can play safely and securely. There is lots of room to run off-leash within the high fences.

Cammack Village
Murray Park Off-Leash Park is ten miles from Sherwood. It has plenty of large, open dog pens that allow Fido to run and play with his fur friends. There are lots of water stations to keep him hydrated as he plays. The park does have two fenced in areas so that big dogs and small dogs do not get tangled in together. It is a great place to come and enjoy some outdoor fun. There is limited seating for humans, so remember to bring a folding chair or towel if you want to lounge. Doggie waste bags can be found throughout the park, so practice good petiquette and use them!

Maumelle
4 Paws Park is about 19 miles from Sherwood, but it’s well worth the drive! This park stands out because it has lots of large trees that provide shade on hot days. The agility area is pawfect for weaving around and letting Fido strut his stuff. You and Fido can meet lots of new fur friends if you come at the peak times in the day. This is the barktastic place to play fetch, so grab your ball and come on out. Seating areas and picnic tables are available for when Fido wears you out.

Scott
Toltec Mounds Archaeological State Park is a national park located around 21 miles from Sherwood. This is one of the largest regional archeological dig sites. The best part? You can take walks around the trails with your dog! Each site has it very own informative plaque that tells you about the location and what’s been found there. It’s a great way to get in a little exercise and learn something new, too. If you and your dog would like to take a guided tour, all you have to do is reserve one. There are bathrooms and water fountains available for you both.

Conway
If you go just 33 miles, you will find a gem hidden away in Conway. Conway Dog Park is hidden behind the sports complex and is designed just for Fido! The two fenced in areas give him lots of room to run and play. There is even enough room to chase a ball if you’re up for playing a good game of fetch with Fido. There’s also plenty of shady spots for you to rest and watch your best pal play. Socializing at this park is great because there are always new fur friends to meet!
