Roland

Roland is a small rural community with single-family homes, farms, and a few churches. There are quiet roads here where you and your furry pal can take a walk together. If you're looking for a place to hike through nature with your four-footed friend, head around Lake Maumelle to the Bufflehead Bay Trail. This out-and-back pathway is 0.8 miles long. Follow the trail to a peninsula where you can catch furrific views of the water. Dogs are permitted to join you as long as you keep them on a leash and under control. Pack water and waste bags for your outing.

Pinnacle

Pinnacle, located about seven miles south of town, is a far northwestern suburb of Little Rock. This residential community lies at the base of a mountain and includes some homes and a few churches. When you want to get fresh air and exercise with your fur baby, head to the Kingfisher Trail at Pinnacle Mountain. The pathway is a half-mile loop that follows along the Little Maumelle River. Hike through bottomland forest with your special pal and look for birds and wildflowers. You can bring dogs here as long as you keep them on a leash and pick up their waste.

River Valley

River Valley is a neighborhood along the Arkansas River that's located about 8.4 miles southeast of Roland. There are private estates that dot the countryside, an airport, and a few churches here. Take your pooch on an outdoor vacation by the river. Head to Maumelle Park to go camping with Fido. This facility offers river access, fishing, and birding. Bring your boat and launch out into the water and see if you can catch some dinner. You can also take a hike on the trail that winds through the area. Dogs need to be on a leash. Make sure you clean up any messes.

Walton Heights - Candlewood

In the neighborhood of Walton Heights - Candlewood, you'll find a few roads lined with single-family homes. Take a walk along the peaceful, wooded lanes with your canine companion. A pawtastic place to stretch your legs with Fido is Conner Park off Cantrell Road. This facility includes a pond, a picnic area, and a trail that goes through the woods and up the mountain here. Take a hike in nature then enjoy an outdoor meal with your special pal. Make sure you keep your pooch on a leash and under control when you visit. Bring waste bags so that you can pick up any droppings.

Sturbridge

Located about 16.2 miles southeast of Roland, the community of Sturbridge includes single-family homes, townhomes, and apartment complexes. There's a shopping district just to the west of this neighborhood. To go exploring with your pooch here, head to the Little Rock Reservoir Park off Cantrell Road. This facility has a disc golf course, picnic areas, natural-surface trails, and some open field. Go for a walk around the water or play fetch in the grass with your pooch. Dogs are welcome to join you if they're restrained on a leash. Remember to have waste bags handy so that you can pick up any waste.
