East Clarkdale
Grab Fido and check out the Tuzigoot National Monument together. This pueblo ruin stands 120-feet above the Verde River and offers 110 rooms inside of it. The monument welcomes your dog to explore the area and hike on the rails with you, and even allows your pup to become a Bark Ranger and receive a badge if he follows the rules. Take a great hike with your dog while at the monument, but make sure to keep him on a leash. Bring water along with you since the trails don't offer any shade and it will get hot.36

North Cottonwood
Check out the Dead Horse Ranch State Park with your four-legged friend. This park along the Verde River offers swimming, fishing, and hiking throughout. If your dog is craving some off-leash time, head over to the Riverfront Dog Park. The park is divided into three areas and offers a kiddie pool with water to keep your pup cool. With chairs for owners to sit on, tons of room for running, and trees or shade, this will be your dog's favorite park. The Old Town Activity Park is a great place to get a walk in with your pup and play a game of fetch. With a large open grass field, paved walking path, and sports field, you two won't be bored here.
