Pinetop-Lakeside Town Center
The busy Town Center of Pinetop-Lakeside isn’t short on lovely greenery to escape to! It’s in this neighborhood that you can find Mountain Meadows Park, on North Woodland Road. This park is one of the town’s newest additions, and has lots of great features. There are plenty of athletic fields and grassy areas your pup will love to sniff and play on. These open spaces are also used for local events, like festivals and concerts. Well-behaved dogs are welcome to join in on the fun, as long as they stay leashed and picked up after. For a taste of the local flavor, head over to Pinetop Brewing Company also in the town center. You can enjoy a cold brew while your dog enjoy their water bowl on the dog friendly, outdoor patio.

Pinetop
The Pinetop neighborhood in Pinetop-Lakeside is proud home to some of the White Mountain trails. Springs Trail Trailhead can be found on Sky Hi Road. This 3.6 mile trail is rated as easy, and welcomes dogs of all fitness levels as long as they stay leashed. This trail follows along Billy Creek and Thompson Creek, and continues north until it connects to the Blue Ridge Trail and the Country Club Trail. Don’t forget the waste bags and plenty of drinking water for you and your parched puppy. After working up an appetite, head over to The Lion’s Den, also in the neighborhood of Pinetop. Here you can dine with your canine companion downstairs in the courtyard.

Lakeside
The Lakeside neighborhood of Pinetop-Lakeside has some great places where you and your pup can escape into the Great Outdoors. This neighborhood is home to the Show Low Lake Campground. This campground surrounds the stunning, hundred acre Show Low Lake. The campsite are wooded, and included fire pits, picnic tables and barbecue grills. Fun things to do in the surrounding campground include fishing, boating, hiking, and enjoying the day use picnic areas and playgrounds. Leashed dogs are welcome throughout the park, as long as they remain under control and are picked up after. To take your hiking a little further, head to the Mogollon Rim Trail, accessible from West White Mountain Boulevard. This easy one mile hike welcomes leashed dogs and offers gorgeous views of the valley.

Show Low City Center
Just north of Pinetop-Lakeside, sits the town of Show Low. The Show Low City Center is home to another puppy paradise! It’s here that you can find the The Deuce of Dog’s Bark Park, just a 15 minute drive from Pinetop-Lakeside. This dog park provides a safe environment for your pup to enjoy some off-leash exercise and pawsitive socialization. Here your pal can romp around like a wild dog along the pathways in the wooded, fenced in area. The dog park has a canine drinking fountain, but be sure to bring waste bags and your dog’s favorite ball! When it’s time for a treat, head over to America’s Pie Company right nearby. At this quaint cafe you can enjoy some apple pie and homemade ice cream next to your best pal. They offer dog-friendly seating in the grassy front yard.

Old Linden
In the nearby town of Show Low, you can find the Fool Hollow Lake Recreation Area, nestled into the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest. It can be accessed from the neighborhood of Old Linden, just a 25 minute drive from Pinetop-Lakeside. Whether you want to kick back and relax, or get some heart pumping exercise, the Fool Hollow Lake Recreation Area has it all. Here you can camp among the tall pines or take a hike along the lake. The 1.5 mile trail follows the south and west sides of the Fool Hollow Lake. The trail doesn’t make a complete circuit around the lake, so you’ll need to double back. There are also fishing, picnicking, boating and wildlife watching opportunities here. Dogs are welcome to join in on the fun, as long as they stay leashed and leave only paw prints.
