A census-designated place in Santa Cruz County, Arizona, Tubac is a welcome reprieve from the hustle and bustle of surrounding areas. Though the low population may paint it as an excessively sleepy little town, locals will be swift to tell you that their little town is just right. Whether you’re one of said locals, or if you’re just stopping in for a good time, it’s easy to see why you would want to spend time in Tubac.
The scenery is beautiful, and the history of the city is impressive as well -- and what better place to learn the history of a town than the state park located within city limits? You’d be doggone crazy to miss your opportunity to check out Tubac Presidio State Park, where your dog is welcome to join you on a leash no longer than six feet in length. You’ll have a wonderful brush with history, taking a trip into the past with your canine companion at your side. It’s important to note that your pup pal won’t be allowed in any of the buildings in the park, aside from the picnic area and visitor center. The great outdoors is where the real fun lies, anyway!
