South Tubac

The first stop on what promises to be a delicious doggy day trip should definitely be the Southern region of Tubac. This is where you’ll find Wisdom’s Cafe, one of two locations where you’ll be able to find this delicious spread of Mexican-style street food. With plenty of vegetarian and vegan options, as well as your usual fare of delicious tacos and burritos, you can’t go wrong! Your dog is welcome to join you on the outer patio and will be provided with icy and fresh water as well as some tasty treats of their own. You’ll have a ball!

Tubac Road

Hit the road, Jack! Tubac Road, that is! As you travel along this stretch of road, you’re sure to find a number of exciting treats to indulge in. Most notable, however, is Shelby’s Bistro, a fine dining establishment where you can expect to spend a decent chunk of change for some delicious food. It’s a must-see location for those with a refined palate, and your pup pal will be welcome at any of the outdoor tables. Try one of their tasty burgers, or go a bit more refined with their salmon salad. Bring some treats for your bud to make it a doggie dinner date!

Central Tubac

Continue on your path, and find yourself in central Tubac, an exciting location where you’re sure to find the goods (quite literally!). The Goods is a local restaurant that serves healthy dining options as well as plenty of selections as far as craft beer, wine, and house-made cocktails. Much of the food is locally sourced and organic to boot! Grab a table on their outdoor patio, and let your pup settle in while you get a healthy, tasty bite. Just be sure to bring water for Fido, and maybe a treat of their own, if you’re not willing to share those veggies!

Plaza Road

Next stop, mosey your muss down to Plaza Road, a definite stop on your doggy dine-out day trip. Plaza Road is home to Tubac Jack’s Saloon, a southwestern restaurant and bar. Help yourself to their delicious wings or quesadillas, or even steaks with baby back ribs! The food is to die for… or at least good enough to play dead for! You and your dog are free to dine on the outdoor patio; just be sure to bring plenty of water and possibly some snacks for your pup as well. You don’t want them to get jealous of your hearty meal!

Quail Creek

Finally, make that final stretch of your adventure to south Sahuarita, where you’ll find Quail Creek Dog Park. Although the lack of grass may be a bit off-putting, it’s a perfect place for your dog to race around and chase a ball, free of their leash! Watch them kick up dust as they dart around the enclosed area, where the people are friendly and the dogs are even friendlier. Just be sure to bring plenty of drinking water and some doggy waste bags to pick up after your precious pup. You’ll want to keep this picturesque place clean and tidy.
