Dog Walking in Tumacacori-Carmen
Tumacacori is a small town in Santa Cruz County. The most notable thing about Tumacacori is the Mission San Jose de Tumacacori which was built in the late 18th century. The Santa Cruz River also runs through Tumacacori, perfect if your dog loves water. There are no veterinarians in Tumacacori, but there is one down the road in Rio Rico.
Spend a day out at the Tumacacori National Historical Park with your pup. The Anza Trail runs through the park where you and your dog can get a good walk in, or the two of you can explore the mission together. The park also offers guided tours, bird watching, and has a large grass area that you both can explore. Make sure to keep Fido on a leash when the two of you are visiting.
Stop into Wisdom's Cafe for a bite to eat with Fido. This family owned business is most known for their fruit burrito, but also serves authentic Mexican food like fish tacos, salads, and quesadillas. Their outdoor patio is covered and welcomes your dog to join you for some delicious food.
Although small, your dog will have a wonderful time exploring the lovely city of Tumacacori alongside you.
Best Dog Neighborhoods in Tumacacori-Carmen
Take a hike through the Southwest Parks and Monuments with Fido by your side. This small park doesn't offer a ton of amenities, but it does have a nature trail that the two of you can use for a great walk together. The park sits right outside of the Tumacacori National Historical Park, and the nature trail that takes you through the Southwest Park connects to the Anza Trail. Make sure that your pup stays on a leash while you are hiking through the park, and be sure to bring water for you both.
The Tubac Presidio State Historical Park is a dogtastic park to visit with your pup alongside you. The park has several trailheads that you can use for a hike, and over 4-miles of trails to explore, with maps available. One trail will take you across the Santa Cruz River where you and Fido can stop to cool off. The park also has a few benches and picnic tables near the southern end where you can sit down and relax before heading home. This puptastic park is located in Tubac, and only three miles out of Tumacacori.
Head out to the Sonoita Creek State Natural Area for a great day out with your dog. This natural area has a ton of amenities that Fido will love exploring with you, and even offers restrooms, exhibits, and a visitor center. The natural area overlooks the Patagonia Lake where you can sit down at one of the picnic tables and enjoy a meal together before going out onto the hiking trails. If you and your pup enjoy the park, you can even spend a few nights there and rent out a campsite. The Sonoita Creek State Natural Area is in Patagonia, and only thirty miles out of Tumacacori.
Spend a day exploring the Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge with your pup by your side. The park has great amenities like hunting, camping, environmental education, and wildlife watching. Take a hike along the numerous hiking trails that are sprawled throughout the park and get a good walk in together. While out at this park, your dog needs to remain on a leash, and be aware that horses frequent the area. Located in Sasabe, and only thirty miles out from Tumacacori, your dog will love spending time out at this area.

Head over to the Camp Little Park for a fun day out with your dog. The park has a covered picnic area, playground, a small grass area, and a nice paved walking path around the park. There are benches along the path that you and relax on while you are walking with your dog. The Teyechea Park offers two playgrounds, a baseball field, a basketball court, a picnic area with BBQs, and a small hiking trail that your dog will love going to explore. Check out Anza Park with Fido and enjoy the picnic area, playground, and numerous sports courts while you are there. All of these great parks are located in Nogales, and nineteen miles out of Tumacacori.
