Grab a cool treat or tasty burger from Roger’s Frosty with your dog at one of its outdoor tables, and then head to a nearby town or city for some paw-friendly fun.

About 4 miles north of Cottonwood is Anderson, which has some hotels and restaurants that welcome pooches. You can head about 10 miles further north to Redding, which has even more dog-friendly dining options and places to stay, plus some fun attractions for you and your pup to do together. Head to the Sundial Bridge near Turtle Bay Exploration Park for a fun place to splash in the water and get some pawesome pictures with your pup! This spot is just minutes away from Red Bluff’s downtown area that runs along the coast of the Sacramento River and has several dog-friendly dining spots to choose from. The Breckenridge Street area is where you’ll find the pupular Samuel Ayer/Dog Island Park, which is an excellent spot for a family picnic, bike ride, or hike. Chico is a good drive from Cottonwood – the Degarmo Terrace neighborhood is just over 51 miles away – but it’s an excellent place to check out for some dog-friendly fun when you have a day to explore. This neighborhood is on the northern end of the city and is home to DeGarmo Park, a public spot where residents and visitors go for playing, picnicking, watching sporting events, and more.
