Main Street
For a fun hike with your pup, head over to Samuel Ayer/Dog Island Park, where dogs are welcome on-leash. This park includes two separate areas. The Samuel Ayer portion of the park includes a small grassy area with a one-lane road where you can take your pup for a short walk. To reach the Dog Island portion of the park, you’ll have to cross a wooden bridge. From there, you can hike on lovely trails that go along the Sacramento River. You can also have a picnic at one of the park’s scenic picnic tables. Dogs will love spending the day in this park that’s named after them!

Benton
Want to let your pup play off-leash? Head over to Benton Airport Dog Park in Redding’s Benton neighborhood. Located about 32 miles from Red Bluff, this dog park has two acres of space where your pup can run and play. There’s also a separate area for smaller dogs. Water is available for thirsty pups, and there are plenty of trees that keep the park shady and cool on hot days. After the dog park, continue your fun day out with lunch at Sandwichery. This sandwich shop welcomes dogs at the outdoor seating, and the staff will bring your pup a bowl of water and a dog treat! As your dog enjoys their treat, you can dine on delicious sandwiches, salads, and homemade soup or chili.

This Red Bluff neighborhood is home to another great park where dogs are welcome on-leash: River Park. Here, you and your pup can take a leisurely walk on a paved trail that goes along the Sacramento River. You can also walk your pup on the grassy fields that line the river. If you’re looking for another pawesome off-leash area, check out DeGarmo Dog Park in Chico. This dog park is 36 miles from Red Bluff, and it includes one large field where pups can play off-leash. There’s also a plastic kiddie pool they can splash around in on hot days, and water is available for dogs to drink. Your pooch will love running around this fun dog park! Afterwards, treat your dog to lunch at Great Harvest Bread. This café and bakery often has dog biscuits available for canine customers, and they also have two pet-friendly outdoor tables.
