Hi! My name is Gina and I love dogs (but that’s why everyone is here, right?) I’ve been employed by animal shelters for the past six years, and was the dog behaviorist at my last shelter for over five years. Much of my focus was helping “difficult” dogs to become adoptable and find loving homes! I currently own a chihuahua mix and a yorkie/beagle, but my family’s pit bull was the dog that first proved to me how amazing dogs are and why I’d like to work with them as my career.

My name is Deija, I’ve been walking the dogs of a family near me for a few years, and I like it so much I decided to expand my clientele. I would like to branch out and continue to learn about and meet new dogs! So, I hope that you’ll consider me to be your new dog walker!
Hello, my name is Shandra Post. I am new to the Chico area. My background is horticulture; specifically landscaping, gardening and nursery work, though the season is slowing down. My passion and hobbies are my pets. I have been a dog owner for over 20 years. I have cared for everything from dogs to tarantulas. I volunteered at the Monterey County SPCA for 3 years before relocating to Butte County. I love nature, animals, and am not afraid of cleaning up after either.

I’m Emily! My family got a dog when I was little, and I've been hooked ever since. My experience at the animal hospital where I worked for 2 years (Vet Tech) made me more aware of how to properly care for dogs in everyday situations, but also how to be on the look out for signs of illness, fear, and aggression in our furry friends, and I was trained on how to properly respond in those situations. I love taking care animals of all kinds and look forward to meeting yours!

“Your fur-baby is my #1 priority :)”
I’m currently a college student at University. I’ve been taking care of people’s pets for 5+ years, so I’m confident to say I’m very comfortable and familiar caring for lots of different kinds of dogs; big or small, and a variety of behaviors. I have 2 pups of my own, my Mini Schnauzers. I’ve volunteered at many animal shelters. I’m very proud of the role I was able to play for the animals in need. Animals are my passion, I assure you that your pet will be cared for in loving hands. Thank you!

A gorgeous mountain town where sunshine abounds, Paradise, California, may be recognizable to some as the backdrop for certain movies and TV shows. It’s also a place where pets of all shapes and sizes can get outside and enjoy the recreational opportunities that Paradise has to offer!
Nestled among the pines of Paradise is the Moore Road Dog Park, also called the Lezlie Morrow Memorial Dog Park. Open every day from sunrise to sunset, the park is a perfect place to take your pooch off-leash. Covered by tall trees, the wooded park is separated into a large and small dog area. Amenities include a double-gated fence (suitable escape artists of all breeds), a water fountain, comfy benches, and lots of open space.
Paradise is also home to the Paradise Memorial Trailway. It is a paved trail that stretches for over five miles, starting at Neal Road and ending at Pentz Road. On average, the trail slopes at a grade of about 3%, so it provides some gentle hills to get your heart pumping. The trail ventures from residential areas to tall pine woodlands, and provides nearby access to local restaurants and delis. The trail is heavily used by locals, so make sure to watch out for bikers or skaters.
Previously an unused railroad corridor, the Paradise Memorial Trailway is now a great place to walk your dog in Paradise! Whether they’re on the leash, or scurrying down the road freestyle, your dog will never get enough of the sights and smells on this beautiful trailway: wide open sky, a huge scope of plant life, and an optional hiking route that’ll leave you barking for more. Paradise Memorial Trailway is supported by Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, giving you a slice of history, and a slice of paradise, for you and your pup to take on, one step – and pawprint – at a time!
Looking for a slice of safety in Paradise? Lezlie Morrow Memorial Dog Park has got your tail covered! Located at the centre of the city, the dog park gives your pup the chance to roll around off-the-leash. With separate areas for big dogs and little pups, your dog can take a dip in the available water tubs, or meet new friends of their own. You can take a seat at the available benches, chat to your fellow dog owners, and give your dog the taste of freedom in this double fenced, secure environment. Safe fun for all the furry family!
Bille Park has got a whole host of activities for both you and your dog. Take a trip down the adventurous nature trail, where you can try and spot all the local wildlife. When you’re done, you can find yourself a seat at the horseshoe pits or picnic tables. Or, if you’re in the party mood, call ahead to book a BBQ table for everyone to enjoy. Howl can it get any better that that? Well, take off the leash and let your dog run freely through the nearby meadow. Bille Park is a wild ride for humans and canines!
Known lovingly as the crown jewel of Chico, located 20 minutes outside Paradise, Bidwell Park welcomes the leashed and unleashed alike! If you’re looking for a place to run around freely, the upper park has designated areas for canine companions. Here, you and your dog can have some fun in the sun, with areas including water features, wide fields, and off-leash activities. The lower park, however, has everything a leashed lab would love: miles of hiking trails, for all exercise levels. So whether you’re looking for exercise, adventure, or free spirited dogs, there is sure to be something for everypup at Bidwell Park.
Degarmo Dog Park, just a 20 minute drive from Paradise, does everything it can to be a community for dogs and their humans. With three ball fields, plenty of restrooms, walking paths, and many sheltered areas for picnics, this dog park is one of the friendliest, safest places to bring the local canines together. Connected to the Chico Area Recreation and Park District, the dog park is also available for many local events such as the soggy dog competition, Chico Kite Day, or the Christmas concert! So if you’re looking for a dog park imbued with the family spirit, Degarmo Dog Park is the place to be!
