Haehl Creek
Haehl Creek is a neighborhood in Willits, located 3 minutes east of South Main Street. Featuring several residential quarters, the area is also home to Mendocino County Museum and two public parks: Recreation Grove Park and Willits Rodeo Grounds. Walking with the pooch along East Commercial Street? Pay a visit to Frank Gasse Dog Park. This double-gated doggie paradise is split into two sections for active hounds and shy pups. It’s fairly popular among locals and visitors, but the park is huge, so you'll have plenty of room to play one-on-one if you prefer. Sit back and relax: water, waste bags, and restrooms are available on-site. Time to play!

Mad River County Park
Located 60 miles northwest of Redcrest, Mad River County Park is a place worth traveling to! The park has earned a reputation as one of the best beaches and fishing spots on the Redwood Coast. There are two parks here: one has a boat ramp into the Mad River and is a perfect spot for wildlife watching. Another is a cool beach area with coastal dunes and secret hiking paths (can your buddy find them?). What’s really amazing is that you can let your pup off-leash here! As long as he stays under your voice control and doesn’t disturb the wildlife, that is. Don’t forget to pick up after your mutt!
