The Quarry Lakes in Fremont is a fantastic spot to take your furry friend to get some hiking in and spend a great day out on the lake. Only four miles out of Union City, your dog will have a blast exploring the trails with you, but make sure to keep him on leash while visiting. The lake features a picnic area, benchs, and fishing for you and your pup to enjoy together. If you and Fido want to have a picnic, then take advantage of the BBQs and enjoy a nice meal on the lake. If Fido is looking to get an amazing hike in with a breathtaking view, head over to the Mission Peak Regional Park. This mountain hike is about 3-miles total in length with a steep elevation climb of 2004-feet. While hiking, Fido needs to stay on a leash, especially since the park often has wildlife roaming around like cattle and coyotes. When you reach the summit, you will be rewarded with a beautiful view of the Bay Area, plus there is an awesome totem pole to take a picture with. Make sure to bring plenty of water since it does get hot on the hike, and be aware that there isn't any shade on the mountain while hiking up.

There is a pond in the middle of the park which often have a lot of geese around it, so be sure to keep your pup leashed. Locals love the park because it is a great spot for jogging and walking your dog, and the scenery is beautiful. Make sure to bring your clean-up bags with you while visiting.

Your dog is allowed to run around off-leash in certain sections of the park, so just pay attention to signs to make sure you are following the rules. The park contains salt, fresh, and brackish water marshes, plus seasonal wetlands and trails. Fido will love all the smells he can explore while you enjoy the hike, but watch out for the natural wildlife that is in the area. Don't forget your clean-up bags when you visit.

The Early Warren Dog Park is a dogtastic park to take Fido to for some off-leash fun and socializing with new friends. The dog park is in Castro Valley, which is nine miles out of Union City, and just small car ride away for Fido. There are separate areas for large and small breeds at the dog park, plus picnic tables for owners, tons of green space to run around on, and restrooms.
