West Hills is a beautiful neighborhood of LA that provides easy access to plenty of shopping, dining and entertainment! The Upper Las Virgenes Open Space Park is a gorgeous 2,650-acre park that offers rolling hills, canyons, wildlife and hiking trails. They do allow on-leash pups that are picked up after to accompany their owners on this scenic outing! El Escorpion Park is attached to the Upper Las Virgenes Canyon Open Space Preserve, where they also allow leashed dogs to take in the views, get some cardio and absorb some Vitamin D. If you and Fido worked up an appetite after all that hiking, In-N-Out Burger and Pedaler’s Fork cater to pooches!

Conveniently located off Ventura Freeway and Topanga Canyon Boulevard, this family-friendly community provides plenty of dining, shopping and golfing! Alizondo Drive Park and Summit Valley Edmund D. Edelman Park allow on-leash dogs to hike the trails or paved walking paths. The Marvin Braude Mulholland Gateway Park sits on 1,500 acres of wild land, biking, equestrian and hiking trails that you and your on-leash canine companion can experience together! Rib Ranch Bar-B-Que, The Rack, Pickwick’s Pub, Nicola’s Kitchen, Taste of India, and Angel City Café are the doggie-accommodating restaurants in Woodland Hills.

Calabasas

Calabasas

Calabasas is a very beautiful city surrounded by gorgeous houses and palm trees, and is located about 5 ½ miles south from West Hills. The Calabasas Bark Park is a quaint off-leash, fenced dog park that comes with a separate area for small dogs, a separate children’s play area, and water fountains! The Calabasas Cold Creek Trail allows on leash dogs to enjoy the 4.5-mile, 750 feet incline hiking trail (round-trip) that offers scenic views and is an excellent place to walk your pooch and get some cardio in the area! If you’re visiting from out of town, there are several private Airbnb properties that rent to families with pups.

Tarzana

Ten miles east of West Hills, the residential neighborhood of Tarzana provides a ton of indoor and outdoor activities that allow you to bring Fido! The Caballero Canyon Trail located in the Marvin Braude Mulholland Gateway Park is a 3.4-mile hike in the Santa Monica Mountains that welcome on-leash dogs to enjoy! Westridge-Canyonback Wilderness Park offers gorgeous hiking trails along the ocean and downtown area that invites both on or off-leash doggies to take advantage of their many fun trails! San Vicente Mountain from Mulholland Drive is a 2-mile hike that ascends 330 feet up; on-leash dogs are allowed to accompany human companions on the trail.
Chatsworth

Chatsworth

Chatsworth, California rests just 5 ½ miles north east of West Hills. This community offers quick and easy access to Topanga Canyon Boulevard, the Ronald Reagan Freeway and many local parks! Garden of the Gods Park is situated on 23 acres and is a very distinctive looking area that is located on enormous sandstone rock formations. Garden of the Gods welcome on-leash dogs to enjoy the unique landscape and their hiking trails that provide breathtaking views! Upper Las Virgenes Canyon Open Space Preserve, Cheseboro, Palo Comado Canyon, Sage Ranch Park, Chatsworth Park South, and Santa Susana Pass State Historic Park all allow on-leash pups on their many miles of walking paths.
