The Walnut Hill Park is a fantastic park to hang out at with your four legged friend. This green space offers amazing amenities like a cricket field, two baseball diamonds, a gazebo, rose garden, playground, one softball diamond, tennis courts, and pavilions. There is a great shaded picnic area where you and your dog can sit down and enjoy a meal together, or if you want to get a bit of exercise, use the park's 1 mile walking loop. Make sure to keep your pup on a leash while you are visiting the park.

Take your pup out on an amazing hike along the Metacomet Trail. This trail is 62.2-miles in length and will take you through a lot of the towns surrounding New Britain. While hiking, you will pass through a lot of forested areas along the Hanging Hills, as well as see the Ragged Mountain Preserve and Crescent Lake. You and your pup don't have to travel the entire 62.2-miles of this hike since there are tons of loop options available throughout it to make the hike shorter. If you continue the entire hike, you will  connect to the New England National Scenic Trail which will take you all the way to the Massachuets/ New Hampshire border.

Hang out at the Stanley Quarter Park with your pup for a gorgeous day out. This park has some pawsome amenities that Fido will love exploring, such as a fishing lake, numerous ball fields, a skate park, and a playground. If you both want to get a walk in,  head out onto the trail that goes through the park. Just down the road is the AW Stanley Park which is surrounded by a lake and offers a basketball court. Check out the wooded nature trail that meanders throughout for a puptastic walk together.
