Wilton is a midsized town in Fairfield County. With rolling hills, wooded areas, streams, and ponds, this town has no short supply of natural beauty. Not only is Wilton a picturesque place, it is also business friendly, and is home to several successful start-up companies, consulting firms, and global corporations.

If you don’t feel like making dinner, leash up your pup and head over to one of Wilton’s pet friendly restaurants. Don’t miss out on the delectable cuisine of Marly’s Bar and Bistro, which has been voted to have the “Best Burger” and “Best Seafood” in Wilton. Your furry dining pal can join you at one of the outdoor tables. Heibeck’s Stand is another dog loving restaurant with outdoor tables. They specialize in quality burgers and sandwiches, as well as homemade ice cream. Be sure to get a scoop or two in a signature flavor.

If your pup is begging for some time in nature, head over to the Leonard J. Bradley Park. A variety of trails takes you through pine trees, wetlands, and over small streams. Fido will love feeling the dirt beneath his paws as he makes his way around this park.

With such amazing trails, pet friendly restaurants, and four veterinary clinics, it’s no wonder dogs feel so at home in Wilton.

Leash up your pup and head over to the Wilton Town Forest for some much needed time in nature. Your pal will love the serene setting and break from the hustle and bustle of life. In the northeast corner of the forest, you’ll find Sheep Falls. Barrett’s Brook flows out of the falls and adds to the forest’s beauty. There are several trails that weave throughout the forest. The Orange Trail runs alongside Barrett’s Brook and is often noted as one of the prettiest trails in Wilton. Facilities are not available, so bring your own water. What a great place for your pal to get some exercise!

Every dog loves a trip to the park. Clip on your dog’s leash and pay a visit to the Merwin Meadows Park for some fun in the sun. The Norwalk River flows right through this park, so you know you’ll get some beautiful waterfront scenery during your walk. Follow the paved path around the park and through groves of shade trees. You can also access the Norwalk River Valley Trail in this park. Head north on the trail through the adjacent Lover’s Lane Open Space. Does your dog love being in the great outdoors? Then she’ll most definitely love Cherry Lane Park. Sprawling just over 50 acres, this gorgeous slice of nature will rejuvenate your pup’s spirits. Grab her leash and head over for some serious exploring the seven trails that meander throughout the property. Follow just one, or let your pooch create her own loop. As you wander through the park, you’ll find fir, spruce, maple, birch and beech trees. Let your pooch rest her paws on the shore of the pond. Chances are you’ll see ducks floating around.
