East Fairefield

The eastern part of Fairfield is bordered by Ash Creek and provides convenient access to the ocean, making it the best place to sunbathe on a beach. The area has a few cultural, historical, and recreation areas, but if you want your pooch to have a blast, take him to Jennings Dog Beach located off Sandcastle Playground. A furrific time is guaranteed! This is the only off-leash beach in the area where pooches are welcome to dig and run, but aren't allowed into any buildings, pavilions or playgrounds. If this beach is a little too crowded for you, there's another option to the south. Penfield Beach is a great place for leashed pooches to spend a day of fun in the sun and surf with their masters!

Fairfield

Fairfield is the place to go for food. Once you're in downtown Fairfield, you'll find it hard to resist visiting one of the many dog-friendly eateries here! Post Road has plenty of dog-friendly choices. Check out Archie Moore’s Bar and Restaurant, serving up a traditional mouth-watering cuisine at dog-friendly outdoor tables. If you're looking for healthy options, head to Catch a Healthy Habit Café, just a few steps away from the bar. This pawesome place puts a flavorful spin on traditional healthy options. If healthy eating isn't your "Plan A”, just a bit further from downtown is Plan B Burger Bar, a casual place where your pal is welcome to share a burger and fries with you at the outdoor tables.

Rowayton

Rowayton is a coastal neighborhood and a village within the city of Norwalk. Nestled on Farm Creek, this neighborhood offers a wide selection of outdoor attractions for locals and visitors, including recreation areas, shopping venues, and a yacht club. Your mutt is very welcome to play off-leash at Rowayton Dog Park, set off the Rowayton Library. This park is large field for mutts to frisk, romp and make some new fur-iends. The park is fenced, clean and well-maintained, so you don't have to worry about anything! Grab some toys, drinking water, and a Frisbee to enjoy a great day out with the local pups!

Lake Mohegan Recreation Area

Lake Mohegan is a 15-minute drive from the city of Westport, but this huge recreation area is worth visiting with your pooch! Lake Mohegan and its surrounding green space encompasses more than 1,700 acres, which include miles of walking trails and areas where you can let your pooch off-leash! The trails surround the water and creek, making the walking experience pleasant and fun for both owners and pooches. You will find trash cans and scoopers, but no water fountains in the area, so it would be smart to take some with you. However, some pooches love drinking water straight from the creek!
