While there are no veterinary clinics in Camden, there are many good options in nearby Dover.

If you want to spend the day at the beach with your furry best friend, Bower’s Beach is perfect for you. Located 14 miles from Camden, this beautiful beach welcomes dogs on-leash. While you’re here, you and your pup can swim together in Delaware Bay, or you can go for leisurely walks on the shoreline. Bring water and doggy bags with you, and enjoy spending the day relaxing on the sand!

Abbott’s Mill Nature Center is another great place to go with your pup. This nature center is 18 miles from Camden, and it allows dogs on-leash. The nature center has five miles of trails you can explore with your dog. These trails go past a historic gristmill and a 20-acre pond as well as peaceful meadows and forest. Bring doggy bags with you, and have a furrific time hiking here.

If you’re searching for another pawsitively amazing place to take your dog for an on-leash walk, head to this Harrington neighborhood and check out Browns Branch County Park. Located about 13 miles from Camden, this park has two trails you can explore with your dog. If you want a short walk, try the 0.3-mile Browns Branch Nature Trail. Or, if you’d like to go for a longer stroll, hop on the 1.1-mile Browns Branch Boundary Loop Trail. After your walk, cool off with a dip in Browns Branch County Park’s lovely creek. Then, if you’re hungry, grill up lunch for you and your dog on one of the park’s charcoal grills. If your pup gets thirsty after all this excitement, a doggy water fountain is available in the park.
