If you want a fun way to cool off on a summer day, just come on over to Lewes Beach. This is a dog-friendly beach where you can play in the waves and enjoy being in the sun. You'll have to keep your dog on a leash while you play. There is no drinking water, so be sure to bring some with you. Don't forget to clean up after your dog when you come to play. There are always other dogs and kids to play with here, so you and your family might just make a few new friends! The beach is open all year long.

Cape May

Cape May

Cape May Lewes Ferry allows you to bring your dog with you to travel across the bay. The ports on both sides are both pet-friendly as well. Your dog can explore the ferry with you, but he is not allowed in the food court. You'll have to keep him on a leash at all times, and you're also responsible for his messes, so bring doggie waste bags with you. This is a great way to spend a day out on the water with your dog! You'll both enjoy the sights and the fresh air. During the summer, the ferry does get packed, so you may want to make reservations.

Whether you're an avid fisherman or an amateur angler, you and your dog should head over to Katydid Sportfishing, where you can enjoy some dog-friendly charter fishing. This unique adventure on the water will be un-fur-gettable! Your dog will have a blast feeling the wind in his fur, and you can even try your hand at shark fishing! This is the opportunity of a lifetime for you both. Just bring a leash and water for you and your dog. Remember that you are responsible for your dog and his messes. You must make reservations at least one day in advance, and make sure your dog is comfortable on the water before booking.

P.U.P.S stands for Pawsitively Unique Pet Store. Its name holds true because this is an adorable pet store where you can find healthy treats, food, and toys for your dog. The shop sells specialty shampoos and soaps as well. Bring your dog with you to pick out her own toys, outfits, or even a new collar. Don't forget that there will be other pets visiting the store, and maybe even some cats, so your dog will have to be on her best behavior. A leash is required at all times. There are so many cute things to choose from that you will want to visit again and again!
Cape Henlopen

Cape Henlopen

Cape Henlopen State Park has both hiking and walking opportunities all year long for you and your dog to enjoy. There are six miles of dog-friendly beach open all year as well. The only restriction for dogs is the boardwalk. While most of the beaches are always dog-friendly, there are times of the year -- usually when it is really busy -- that dogs are either prohibited from exploring the beach or must wear a leash. There are some trails where the leash is optional. You'll need to check in at the front desk before exploring here. The park entrance fee is slightly higher for out-of-state visitors.
